After watching this movie last night, I kept thinking about the scenes in the movie, and the soundtrack of the movie was just right. The war scene at the beginning matched the classic soundtrack from "Pirates of the Caribbean", and the ending matched with the death of the protagonist. The female voice that makes people feel distant and sad not only allows the audience to experience the protagonist’s inner patience, loneliness and courage more deeply, but also sublimates the content of the movie to a height about love and death (in the end, the protagonist and his beloved wife and son Reunion in Paradise), the film also won the 2001 Oscar for best sound and best effect awards. This kind of soundtrack integrated with the film’s emotions reminds me of another movie "Slumdog Millionaire" here I won't explain them one by one.
Before writing this film review, I originally planned to title it "An Epic Film About Love, Courage, and Revenge", but I later felt that this topic was not suitable for this film, because although the film mainly tells the story of revenge for relatives, Obviously it is a level higher than this kind of movie, and the theme is more profound, so I drafted this topic, because there is a plot in the movie that Caesar, who murdered his father, insulted and even deliberately angered the protagonist in the middle of the arena. At this moment, the protagonist Massimos’ eyes were full of anger, but he said faintly, "You I will soon retreat from the superior throne.” This makes me have to admire the endurance of Massimos, a general who once had a great reputation for making great contributions to Rome, and now he has not only become an entertainer. Gladiator, but also to endure the insults of his enemies to his beloved wife and children. This is how much patience is needed. So I say patience is a great quality. How much a person can do is better than how many ordinary people can't bear. Endure the humiliation, loneliness.
In the last sentence of the film, we are all free in the end, giving the film a good ending. From the beginning of the movie, the protagonist has repeatedly emphasized that after the battle, his hometown and his wife and children will live a life of daily labor in their dreams. Although it is plain, this is the life a battle-tested general most hopes to live, in front of his house. There is a large wheat field with a pony in the middle of the wheat field. So Massimos embarked on the road of vengeance, from generals, to slaves, to gladiators, to fighting the emperor as a humble gladiator, Massimos gambled on everything he had, although the ending may be himself. Take your life, but you can reunite with your wife and children and gain freedom. Then why not hold the knife in your hand and stab the emperor’s heart. At this moment, the blood of the enemy finally flows into the building built by the emperor’s parents and children in the general’s patience. To commemorate the emperor’s sand in the arena, but the emperor’s blood is not as pure and admirable as the gladiators who shed blood in this sand, because the gladiators are fighting for their freedom!
In the last scene of the film, the dead general was carried out of the arena surrounded by people, while the emperor’s body was lying coldly on the side. This may tell us that some people died so great because he spent his entire life for freedom. Fight and choose an impossible path of revenge for freedom.
