It may be a superfluous thing to praise Li Ancun. Those who like to watch movies have more or less expectation of Li Ancun. If the angry youth interprets this as the Chinese admiration of foreigners and foreigners, it would be better to say that the Oscars made most people pay attention to Ang Lee. This kind of attention is not a bad thing for someone who understands himself like this in Ang Lee. I haven't read a novel, so the process of watching the movie is very relaxing for me. Without comparison with the original work, I am more inclined to attribute all the praise to Ang Lee.
I've seen Chai Jing's interview with Li Ang before. In the interview, Chai Jing emphasized the choice between fear and despair. This undoubtedly gave me an entry point for watching movies. But the film talked about religion many times from the beginning, which puzzled me. Such a focus on faith has made me have more expectations for the development of the story.
When we listened impatiently to the background of the story like the listeners in that movie, disaster struck. When I saw a few animals on the boat, I started to think this story was ridiculous. The tiger actually hid under the boat cloth when all the animals got up. Orange actually understood Pi and was secretly hurt for his lost child... But I accepted the hidden absurdities with the idea that I was watching fantasy adventures.
The Bengal Tiger killed the monster, and the elements in time and space were simpler: the sea, the tiger, and the child. Waiting for the director to finish all the foreplays, the conflict I was looking forward to most appeared. In the stories we have long accepted, the first is simple story development, and when it reaches its climax, several contradictions are often triggered at once. The representative in the movie is "Women's Federation", and the representative in the drama is "Thunderstorm." Conflict is exciting, and conflicts are not as many as possible. We have to give enough tension to conflicts. As Bazin said, the movie is told in the interior of this universe. Okay, only you are left. I instantly synchronized with these two guys in time and space, waiting to see you singing.
Pi began to fight for territory with the Bengal tigers. They went from threatening each other to relying on each other... When the ship floated to the coast of Mexico, Pi was powerless. Seeing Richard's back alone, it did not bid farewell, just as ruthless. Walked into the forest. At this point in the story, the middle-aged Pi's eyes were filled with tears for the first time. It turns out that all this is really as my father said, is it my own projection? But I clearly felt such real feelings from it... Li Ang said that his hero has a pure face, not a firm and smart one, but a pure face. When he was a child, he tried to feed the tiger like a fool, only to be greeted by his father to watch a realistic version of the animal world-a sheep was killed by the tiger. Why don't you say goodbye to me? Is it all just a use? Is the day and night getting along these days just the "reality" in the father's mouth?
If the Bengal tiger says goodbye to our pi, if the things about islands and animals end like this, I will watch a very patient adventure movie. However, the truth of the story was revealed by the Japanese from the two shipping companies, "I don't want to listen to those islands, animals, what I want is the truth." Yes, those magical adventures alone are not enough to write a convincing one. Report. As a result, we heard Pi speak out all the truth in one breath. The "animal world" on that ship is a real adult world. The boy who would confess for a long time if he killed a fish in the story killed a man. He saw the innocent Buddhist boy being killed and devoured, and his mother being eaten... The Bengal tiger in his heart appeared, and it roared and killed the bad guy, even if he was still ashamed. In order to survive, the boy ate his meat.
The boy came to church when he was a child. He didn't understand the God who always brought disasters to the world, but in the words of the priest, he fell in love with the innocent and selfless son of God who was suffering for the world. He felt it was unfair in his heart, but he still fell in love with God.
Li An said that he once had a Bengal tiger in his heart. Chai Jing asked him, what is that? Li An smiled and said, this can't be said. Yes, how can those things be said. We will not tell anyone. Just like the foreign proverb said by a friend: Everyone has a skeleton in his wardrobe. Don't test human nature, because human nature cannot stand the test. The roaring Bengal tiger may appear at some point... Disaster may open Pandora's treasure box, and we are forced to face despair.
Chai Jing then asked, is it still there now? Li An said, if it is gone, then go. Let's stop talking about it. This is how Buddhism talks about cause and effect. Thinking of this sentence, the Bengal tiger that never looked back to say goodbye came to my mind.
I was tortured by pain for a while, and I told a friend that I wanted to pray to you. And he said, pray. I told him that I was terrified. He said, what are you afraid of? I said I didn't know what I was afraid of, but it was that feeling that almost swallowed me... I didn't know until later that he was a Christian and he didn't tell anyone deliberately. He said that God has forgiven everyone's sins. PI asked which story the boy who listened to his story would choose, and we probably all would choose the one with the Bengal tiger. I remembered a sentence in a movie review of The Lord of the Rings, "The last gift left in Pandora's box-hope."
