Witness to God's work

There are many good movies in this world, but it is very, very difficult for a movie to reach the level of "skilled work".
The first time I looked at the source code, it was a gun version of very, very poor quality. When I watched it, there were no subtitles. After reading it, my shock was beyond words. After a year, I saw the half-cup film of Ring Messenger, and decided to write up a film review to show my respect.

I only talk about sci-fi movies. Before the source code, there is only one sci-fi masterpiece in my eyes, the Matrix.
The "god" of the Matrix started from the moment Lyon met the "train man" and the "weather man" in that gloomy train station. I don’t know how many people really understand the structure of the Matrix story. The Matrix has never been so-called "awakening", but there are two virtual worlds, one in the 1990s and the other in the dungeon of the virtual future. This finishing touch explains everything that seemed unreasonable before The Matrix, pushing the entire story structure to an unprecedented height.

Compared to the same period of the source code "Inception" Inception sci-fi simply a dream just a dream, in addition to special effects more cattle, completely pediatrics level of science fiction

get on
the source code can be described as ambitious in the realm of science fiction. It touched on two philosophical "ultimate questions", one is "whether consciousness can be separated from the body" and the other is "causal logic behind time regression"
. Not many people dare to play with these two things. "Disaster film" is

first of all "consciousness". We are neither familiar nor familiar with "self-awareness". What is familiar is that we wake up from our body every day, see the world, interact with the world, and the existence of consciousness is so natural. What is unfamiliar is that there are so many bodies that can carry consciousness. Why can my consciousness only exist in my own body? What makes this "binding" so unbreakable? What makes us more curious and terrifying is that if we die, where will our consciousness go?

The protagonist sits on a train, and in front of him is a girlfriend who is both familiar and unfamiliar. The protagonist is a soldier who has just returned from the battlefield. He has no girlfriend and this body is not his own. A typical small cost through the opening of science fiction. Then, the train exploded and the protagonist died.

The protagonist did not really die, the protagonist woke up in something even stranger, resembling an alien vehicle. A woman in the image of an officer contacts the protagonist and tells him the "source code project" and his mission, which is to find the criminal who detonated the train.

This naturally leads to the "back in time".
It turns out that the military invented a device that can partially simulate and retrospect history based on certain initial conditions. In fact, it is not really going back in time, but just a so-called virtual reality. , But what is virtual is the reality that happened in history.
Because terrorists blew up a train and threatened to blow up the entire city, and in order to find out who the terrorists were, the military used this system to reverse the history of 8 minutes from the explosion of the train and send the protagonist’s story. Aware of this virtual reality, let the protagonist investigate the murderer.

The protagonist sneered at this explanation because the so-called virtual reality was too real. He had a very simple heart and wanted to save the people on the train from death. He firmly believed that the military must conceal the information from him, which is not at all. What virtual reality, but a real time backwards.

But as a science fiction fan, going back in time, this kind of nonsense, will inevitably involve the grandfather's paradox, and all audiences are waiting for the director to play it.

At this time an even more amazing thing happened, the true identity of the protagonist.
The protagonist discovers that he is actually dead.

Or to be more precise, he has been on the verge of death. This makes his consciousness more suitable for this kind of virtual (traveling) than other people. The protagonist is now even less trusting in the military. In fact, the most natural thing is that the protagonist will be killed in 8 minutes after each simulation. After death, it will return to the simulation warehouse and proceed to the next simulation. But what if you don’t die? If the protagonist is not dead in that virtual reality, what will happen to the world after 8 minutes?

The protagonist wants to know, and the audience wants to know. The director can of course avoid talking about this. He can say ambiguously that the protagonist successfully found the terrorist, and then prevented the terrorist's further plans. But the train that has exploded still exploded, and the protagonist has to serve as this kind of "temporal investigator" to continue to solve more incidents of this kind for the military.
If arranged in this way, this film will never become a work of God. What is surprising is that this film has faced the challenge directly, and abruptly shouldered the burden of explaining this problem. God is born and

finally in a virtual reality, although the protagonist failed to stop the explosion, he found the location of the bigger bomb. The source code project was a success, and the entire research organization is celebrating the victory.

The military promised the protagonist that after this success, he would die peacefully, no longer being a halfling halfling. But we all know this is a lie, because how can such nb resources be easily given up?

The protagonist finally begged the female officer to let him run the source code again. He wanted to try to stop all explosions in that world. The female officer also found out with conscience and agreed to help him "pull the tube" after the last simulation.

In the last simulation, the protagonist prevented all possible explosions, called his father, and kissed countless "8 minutes" girlfriends who had already known him.

Finally, when the simulation time came, the female officer outside the petri dish pulled the plug, but the virtual world continued to run.

This plot is too bloody. "Is it dog blood?" Actually, it's not dog blood at all.

In The Matrix, Leon finally went blind, but he could still see the world. In this bloody plot, the audience can understand that Leon, who was only Superman in the virtual world, is so fierce that he has become a Superman in the real world. Of course, it can be argued based on the "Razor Principle" that the male protagonist has never been in the real world, and he can see the world blindly, only because he has awakened again in another virtual world.

Back to the source code, can you calculate such a real world model with just a few computers? In addition, every time the protagonist enters the virtual world and exits the virtual world, he will experience a lot of "flashbacks", and many times of "flashbacks", a huge metal ball will appear. And this scene happens to be the big sculpture that the heroine and the heroine admire holding hands at the end of the play. This implies that all of this is actually doomed a long time ago, and the protagonist's consciousness is just a wandering soul who still doesn't know where to go.

When adding a time dimension to the 3-dimensional universe, we only thought of doing axial movement on this time axis (the so-called going back to the past or going to the future). But this is buggy, which is the grandfather's paradox. Hard science fiction should not have such a paradox. Cosmology has never said that time must have only one dimension. What if time has more than one dimension?

To illustrate, in the universe, things can make more than one choice at a time. In fact, any event can produce multiple choices and develop different branches. These times are parallel.

The film has always hinted that what the protagonist experiences are not virtual. But it is also not a step back in time. It is only possible to jump in parallel.

The consciousness of the dying protagonist, coupled with the supercomputer's high degree of restoration of the state, opens a channel between multiple universes. Through this channel, the protagonist enters other universes and experiences different choices in that universe.

A reasonable science fiction film, from beginning to end, surprises people again and again. Plus a variety of beautiful lenses.
Just like a superb handicraft, any more carving is superfluous.

  • Colter Stevens: The explosion came from behind me.

  • Colter Stevens: You seem concerned about the time. What are you late for?

Max Denoff: I'm on my way to an asshole festival. I hear you're headlining.

Colter Stevens: Oh, that's funny. What are you, a comedian?

Christina Warren: Yeah. He is a comedian.
