A well-known mediocre and warm work

I seldom use the word disgust to describe French movies, but "Untouchable", the French annual box office champion film, accidentally touched my bottom line, and a physical aversion spontaneously arises. In addition, the title of the film is translated as untouchable, which is inaccurate. In fact, the so-called harvest year of French films, from "The Artist" to the film shows the decline of French film originality. The legacy of the New Wave to French cinema has been almost squandered.

The Americans' evaluation of "Untouchable" couldn't be more accurate: everywhere the whites look down on the blacks and enlighten them. Racial superiority abounds. This kind of obscenity towards national integration is reminiscent of the main theme of Chinese movies. Obviously, Hollywood works such as "Driving for Miss Daisy" and "Vintage Cars" are much better with head-up perspectives about racial integration. The French director picks up people's teeth. I still miss the works of "Between the Walls" which face so directly, without avoiding social and racial contradictions in the slightest.

Elegant comedy, black and white respectively represent two special groups isolated by French society. They ridicule each other, using the ridicule of French society to lead the audience to identify with the role; they support each other, integrate and reintegrate into society. Through the end of the film, we learned that the prototype is white, and the change to black in the film is that one can play a casual treatment of the role; the other is the desire for the third and fourth generation of African-American French to integrate into society.

The second best movie I watched this year. In the vast sea of people, two completely different people met, you changed me, I changed you, and the people who met will meet again. Regarding the gap between the rich and the poor, juvenile delinquency, and racial discrimination, although they are not explicitly stated, they are secretly mapped to highlight their roles. The rich are rich but disabled and unhappy, while the blacks are poor but have a kind and optimistic heart. ps: Ludovico Einaudi's soundtrack is a plus!

The Intouchables quotes

  • Philippe: [teasing] What's the matter, you're dealing with the stockings, you have a cute little earring, I think it's coherent.

Driss: Easy on the sass, alright.

    [Philippe laughs]

  • Driss: It's not about being ready. I do not do that. I don't empty a stranger's butt. I don't even empty a friend's butt. I usually don't empty butts. It's a matter of principles.
