Se7en--Pure Goodness Is As Inhumane As Pure Evil

To be honest, after watching the film "The Seven Deadly Sins" (Se7en) with a hint of medieval religion, I was completely shocked. Then, there were some fragmented thinking shocks and I suddenly stopped dumb. "Gluttony", "greed", "laziness", "jealous", "prudence", [lust], and "anger" are the seven deadly sins of human nature referred to in Catholic teachings. Even in the murders that occurred in the city, the dead happened to be people who had committed these doctrines. The murderer's mysterious modus operandi caused the senior and calm police officer, Samose, and the bloody Xinzha constable, Mills, to fall into the mystery of solving the case. They went to the library to study Dante's "Divine Comedy" in an attempt to find clues from the depiction of hell on earth, and finally found clues about the murderer's plans and methods from the world of religious literature and philosophy. The murderer came to surrender and surrendered.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that the case was over. But the logic of the seven deadly crimes could not be escaped. The target of the murderer this time was the person who committed the crime of "anger." Perhaps from an ordinary person’s point of view, this is just about a murderer who killed seven people with careful layout and the doctrine of the seven deadly sins of religion, but I want to observe the motive of the murderer to illustrate the interpretation of this film. First of all, the certain fact is that the murderer is not a perverted murderer but a person with a high degree of education, so why would a highly educated and high-IQ person make such a tragic case? I think this contradiction is the main point of the film. In fact, this contradiction can be clearly answered from the conversation between the murderer and the police officer in the car at the end.John (the murderer): I don't expect you to accept my opinion. I have no choice.
I was chosen.Samosa: I don't expect you to believe this, John. You seem to overlook a significant contradiction.John: What do you mean?Samose: I'm glad you asked. If you are chosen, that is to say, chosen by God, if you are forced, then why do you enjoy it? You treat torture as enjoyment. It’s not like martyrdom, does it? John: That’s because you are concerned about the consequences, but your eyes say that it’s not wrong for a person to enjoy working alone. I don’t deny that I have a desire to make guilty people eat bad results.Mill: I think you’re just killing innocent people.John: Innocent? You are joking? A fat man can't stand up. If you see him on the street, you will laugh at him with your friends. If you are eating, he will force you to swallow. You should thank the lawyer I chose. He has been making money with his conscience all his life, and he is full of lies... helping rapes, rapes, and murderers get away with justice. Mill: Murderer? That's beauty, John. Mill: Are you a murderer? That beauty, John... She is too ugly on the inside. She is afraid that she will not be able to live if she is not beautiful on the outside.
A drug dealer who engages in socks and rapes, and don’t forget that there are also sick prostitutes and women. Only in this fallen world can they be said to be innocent. This is my belief. We can see capital crimes everywhere. On the streets and in every home, we tolerate it because it is not a big deal. We tolerate it from morning till night. It's different now. I set an example, and the world will explore my behavior. research and follow it forever. Well, so many quotes are over here. We can clearly see John’s motive for killing: he can’t tolerate so many sins in the world, and at the same time, the tolerance of the people around him makes it difficult for him to understand. He wants to awaken the world. He needs to practice his own "justice", and the means of practice is to plan a series of seven people. He believes that his fearless spirit will be remembered by the world and cited as an example.John is not a perverted murderer; even to a certain extent, he is a messenger of justice in the form of serial killing. Is John purely good? It should be. His starting point was so simple, so pure, and so righteous, but in the end he became inhumane. The ultimate contradiction! In fact, what I want to say is that it was John's pure "goodness" that harmed him.
The mistakes he made are the prototype of extremism. In his opinion, a little bit of crime is enough to sentence the person who made the mistake to death. Even in the previous TV series in China, except for the heinous enemies, the rest are perfect and good people. When we were young, when we watched TV, we always asked our parents: "Is this person good or bad?" This kind of facial makeup judgment on people still affects our attitude towards different people. People are not the two sides of a coin, but the product of the dimension of time and space. It is not good or bad. Evaluating a person involves moral value judgments, and morality itself is not quantifiable. We allow this to exist within a person. With such flaws, we have always said that people with imperfect talents are normal people. But John is different. His ideal person is a person who has been "deified".
Normal people can tolerate it, but he can't tolerate it. It is precisely because of his perfectionism that he gradually moved towards an inevitable tragedy.John said he was jealous of Mill, but hasn't Mill been deceived in his life? Haven't those strong people experienced pain?John died for pure good and committed evil. In fact, there is no pure water in the world. The purest water is composed of hydrogen and oxygen atoms. Pure love is also based on two relatively free hearts rather than all of life. I have also heard a story about a mother who put her newborn baby in a pure oxygen protection room because the air was too bad, but when the baby came out, she died because she had no immunity. In fact, John reminded me of a book called "Disqualification in the World" by Osamu Dazai that I had read before.
The protagonist began to think that the railroad track was complicated and interesting. When the train was in use, I suddenly felt dull. He feels uneasy because of the difference in the way of human happiness in eating in the world, and he even has toss and turns, moans, or goes crazy because of it. The harder he tried to think, the more he didn't understand it. The net was invaded by restlessness and fear... But in the end, the same tragedy, alcohol, women, and drugs, was finally sent to a mental hospital. This is not a pursuit of pure tragedy. Should I hate these people who are pursuing purity or sympathize with them?I did not say that we should tolerate evil. I also think that there is no pure evil. A recognized war demon like Hitler can also care about his subordinates and forgive the typist for his slow typing speed. Can you say that he is inhuman? I always believe that there is a beautiful and healthy human nature, even if sometimes we are deceived by the world, by desires, and by the "seven deadly sins," and what we can do is to start with ourselves and improve our small environment with a good attitude.
It will affect the environment and give more people clear eyes, so that the world will be a little better and better than it was yesterday. Now I will still be shocked by the desperate ending. It is late at night. I look around silently after finishing this article. I can’t help but breathe a long sigh of relief. Fortunately, this is just a movie, but who can guarantee that there will be no such suffocating nightmare in a certain place in reality? It is possible to create terror in the name of "justice". Sex? "I know; all these lies and delusions, meanness and cowardice. They are like paint and material. Just like paint and material, they can smear a whole city and the countless scenes and encounters in it. What you see is only your imagination; you think it’s your own, but it’s just an accident. The tighter the grip, the more in vain. This is referred to as "ego."
