We are all broken

The beginning of the story starts with Yuren’s younger brother Charlie. Because he was punished by his father for stealing the fashionable car at home, Charlie ran away from home very early and never contacted his father again. He did not have the slightest heart of repentance until his father died of illness. I just care about the inheritance I deserve. When he learned that his father only left him with the car that caused their father and son to turn against him, and that the remaining large amount of inheritance belonged to others, he hated his father even more. He found out that all his father's inheritance belonged to a man named Yuren in the mental hospital, so he tried to steal Yuren out of the mental hospital and threatened the director of the mental hospital to get half of the inheritance. However, in the process of getting along with Rain Man, Charlie gradually learned that Rain Man turned out to be his own brother, and his father sent him to a mental hospital because he was afraid of Rain Man hurting him. Yuren's subconscious mind has been thinking about his younger brother Charlie, even because the hot water has been hot to Little Charlie, he shouted to protect Charlie every time he saw hot water. After spending a week with Rain Man, Charlie changed his liar, selfish, and mean temperament, and found family affection again. And Yuren also tried many first times in his life with the help of his younger brother, such as the first gambling, the first date, the first dance, and the first kiss. In the end, the rainman was unable to adapt to the external environment. Still sent back to the mental hospital, but after all, both of their brothers have changed a lot because of each other.
Although Yuren has huge shortcomings in communication, he has amazing memory and miraculous mathematical skills. Perhaps the moving part of this movie is that it also reminds me of my own genius and idiot, and of my own fragile and in need of protection. Just like the rain people, we are all incomplete.
Because of incompleteness, I am afraid of change. Yuren has a crazy obsession with rituals. His world is like a perfectly designed picture, and everything is fixed at every moment. For example, he must go to bed at eleven o’clock, he must get up at eight o’clock, and the bed must be placed under the window. Even what he eats for lunch, which channel to watch on TV, and which supermarket to buy underpants are all fixed, and he will change it slightly. Yelling and dying. At the beginning of the movie, when Charlie arrogantly changed the rainman's work and rest schedule, the rainman's painful expression made people feel worried.
The rain man hides in our hearts, and the rain man is the fragile shadow behind us that needs to be protected.

The plot is really good. I didn’t expect that the person I was looking for was my closest person. Charlie was inseparable from not accepting it at the beginning, and it was inseparable from the beginning, and it also made people see his growth. My brother did not follow him in the end. , But can get better care. Some people think the ending is not good, but I think this is the best ending.

Rain Man quotes

  • Charlie: I'll tell you a story about my father, that car in the garage, was off limits to me. He said it was a classic, it demands respect. One day, I'm a sophomore in high school, I bring home a report card, it's almost all A's so I go to the old man, ask him if I can take the car out as sort of a victory drive. He says no. So I stole the keys and snuck it out.

Susanna: You took the car with no permission? Why?

Charlie: Because I deserved it! Nothing I did was ever good enough for this guy. Don't you understand, We're on Columbia Parkway, four kids, and we get pulled over.

Susanna: Accident? What is pulled over?

Charlie: You know, siren, police. Can I finish? Okay so we're taken to jail. The other kids' fathers bail them out, mine left me there for two days.

Susanna: He left you in prison for two days? Were you scared?

    Charlie: Yeah.

  • Susanna: You have his money.

Charlie: HIS money? That man was my father too, what about my fuckin' half? Where's my fuckin' half? I'm entitled to that money, Goddammit!
