The first thing to note is that "Sherlock Holmes" is not adapted from the original novel by Conan Daoer. Its plot actually originated from a comic of the same name. However, this comic was not published before the movie was released, so no one knew what the plot of the movie was. This is best for a detective story, because the biggest disadvantage of adapting the original is the loss of suspense.
Holmes was no longer the gentle middle-aged gentleman, he became younger, more unruly, and more able to fight. The same thing changed was his old partner, Dr. Watson, but Watson was still an honest man. The relationship between the two is also different from the original. If they were both teachers and friends in the past, they are more like a pair of colleagues and buddies in this movie. Sometimes there are small frictions and cynicism with each other, and the "work" is completely complementary in abilities (a bit like anti-current Anakin and Obi-Wan~ maybe I have watched more Star Wars recently...). "Sherlock Holmes" follows the action comedy route, but the character characteristics of Sherlock Holmes have been moderately preserved. For example, the observation ability is beyond ordinary people, like to play the violin to help thinking, proficient in chemistry, disguise, smoking pipes, etc. The movie also took the opportunity to use Holmes' ability to observe people in fights, allowing him to use a set of precise theoretical analysis to quickly kill the enemy, which is amazing. The wonderful performance of Robert Downey Jr. is of course indispensable. What is valuable is that the roles of Jude Law and the heroine Rachel McAdams have not been buried.
The plot of "Sherlock Holmes" can be described as original. The main line, side lines, and dark lines of the story are intertwined, making the two-hour set without any procrastination. Suspense one after another, when the final mystery was revealed, I couldn't help but sigh the screenwriter's ingenious design. The theme of the humorous style also makes such a detective movie completely boring.
