Love and destiny are also coincidences

My first film review. Dedicated to this movie-"500 Days with Summer".
The highest level of watching a movie is not to analyze it to the extreme, but to fully integrate it until it blends with the characters in the movie. You are him, and he is also you. You are moved and inspired. The movie truly belongs to you. This movie is like that.
I watched the movie four times before writing this review, and I felt deeper than the other.
Tom has been influenced by various pop songs, movies, especially "The Graduate" since he was a child. He has always believed that unless he finds the person in his destiny, he will not be happy; on the contrary, Summer does not believe in love at all because of his parents’ divorce. . Later, after various encounters, they separated and merged. Tom didn't believe it, but Summer believed it.
Of course, the two reached unity at the end of the film. This is also the theme that the screenwriter and director have tried to tell us in the whole film: love exists, but it is a coincidence to meet who you meet, and you don't need to be overly attached to someone. Just as Tom said in the voiceover after meeting Autumn, "You can't ascribe great cosmic significance to a simple earthly event. Coincidence, that's all everything ever is. Nothing more than coincidence." Meaning and destiny are never a single , A unique earth event appeared. Love is also one of the great meanings of the universe, and of course it will not only happen once. Coincidence, it's all coincidence, it's all chance, Summer meets Tom, Sumer meets her husband, Tom meets Autumn, it's all coincidences, all. Like Summer said, what if I go to the movies? Come later? Wouldn't you not be able to touch it? By the way, everything is a coincidence. There is no single destiny. Destiny is never a single event. Destiny is a coincidence or a chance encounter. It is not you.
Don't be corroded by some movies, pop songs, and youth literature. Love will not only reach the level of hysteria. The screenwriter and director are really hardworking.
Love is a coincidence, and you don’t need to be overly persistent when you love it. This is the theme of the whole movie.
The film also reveals the three typical development stages of love, or it can be extended to friendship, but love is more typical. In the beginning, the two sides will soon find a lot in common, and then feel, wow, found a soulmate! (Tom's soul is not at home at the beginning) This is the stage of seeking the same. Then, you will gradually discover that there are some differences between each other, and even the same parts have different characteristics before. For example, they both love to listen to songs. The two tastes are different. At this time, there will be some disharmony, and this disharmony will gradually Expansion is a threshold and a test. At this time, we need to communicate with each other, tolerate each other, and adapt to each other. This is the stage of reserving differences. At this time, you can't force the other party to change with you, as this can easily lead to a breakdown in the relationship. In the third stage, the two parties know their roots and know the bottom line. At this time, the similarities and differences seem to be less clear. The two sides begin to stabilize. At this time, the relationship is deeper, and there is something similar to family affection. This stage can be called the fusion stage. Seeking common ground-reserving differences-fusion, pros and cons, three stages of love.
Of course, the relationship between the two people in the film is quite special, and they are also friends, but there are also stages of the above.
Love is a coincidence. Love needs to go through the gap between differences. Losing love is not terrible. Thinking of the other person too well may mean that they have not yet discovered some of the other's shortcomings, that is, they have not yet experienced the test. Uncomfortable is uncomfortable. After all, giving true feelings will not be quick and easy, otherwise it cannot be said to be true feelings, but you must be clear intellectually and always go through a process of saving differences, just like Tom’s own one after Tom A little bit of reflection slowly broke my previous perfectionism, don't think too well, it is a kind of fantasy that does not exist to fill your hunger. To cheer up, you can jokingly scold "bitch", and then study hard, work hard, and live a good life. Love is not the only coincidence, there must be a new fate ahead.
Say to someone you have loved, I really do hope that you are happy.
The future is bright, because fate (including love) is not the only coincidence; the road is tortuous, because the development of things (including love) always goes through three stages.
Go back and talk about the movie. It was really successful, at least in my own opinion, it was very successful. I seduce me to watch it four times and then write the first film review. Both the male and female protagonists Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel acted very vividly. The director also shot the film absolutely, expressing the theme very well. I don’t know the specific shot switching, but there are a few places that impress me. The contrast between expectations and reality, Tom walked out of the desperate sketching process of Summer’s house, the film’s processing of the 500-day non-linear highlighting contrast, and the dance between Tom and the pedestrians on the street, I really feel like I and Tom are at each other. Be ecstatic together. There are many details in the film, and many of the words on the wall and the lyrics of the episode are all suggestive.
I would also like to praise the music of the movie, especially the two tunes at the beginning and the end of the movie. They are so beautiful.

summer: I'm just tired.
Tom: That's because you didn't take it seriously

500 Days of Summer quotes

  • Summer: There's no such thing as love, it's fantasy...

  • Tom: Yeah, uh, this is... And Rhoda, no disrespect, but um, this is total shit.

    McKenzie: Tom!

Tom: "Go for it" "You can do it"? That's not inspirational, that's suicidal. If pickles goes for it right there, that's a dead cat. These are lies. We're liars. Think about it. Why do people buy these things? It's not 'cause they wanna say how they feel. People buy cards 'cause they can't say how they feel or they're afraid too. We provide the service that lets them off the hook. You know what? I say to hell with it. Let's level with America. At least let them speak for themselves! Right? I mean, look! What-What is this? What does it say? "Congratulations on your new baby." Right? How 'bout, "Congratulations on your new baby. Guess that's it for hanging out. Nice knowing you."

    Vance: Sit down, Hansen.

Tom: How bout this one, with all the pretty hearts on the front? I think I know where this ones going. Yep! "Happy Valentines Day, sweetheart. I love you." That sweet? Ain't love grand? This is exactly what I'm talking about. What does that even mean, "love"? Do you know? Do you? Anybody?

    McKenzie: Tom...

Tom: If somebody gave me this card, Mr. Vance, I would eat it. It's these cards, and the movies and the pop songs, they're to blame for all the lies and the heartache, everything. We're responsible. *I'm responsible.* I think we do a bad thing here. People should be able to say how they feel, how they really feel, not you know, some words that some stranger put in their mouths. Words like "love"... that don't mean anything. Sorry, I'm sorry. I, uh... I quit. I'm... There's enough bullshit in the world without my help.
