After watching it, I can’t understand why this film scores so high. In fact, I have always wondered why movies about violence have high scores, such as "Pulp Fiction" and "Sin City", even if there is no storyline.
After reading some fan comments, I seem to vaguely understand. It turns out that many people live very depressed and have no channels for catharsis. After watching the protagonist's violent vent in the movie, he feels that the protagonist has done what he wants to do but dare not do, so he is regarded as an idol. Just like I like to watch "The Deer and Ding Tale", mostly because Wei Xiaobao has fulfilled the dream of a man with three wives and four concubines, and this dream is impossible for most men.
Edward Norton wants to kill Brad Pitt because he understands that violent venting is not the way to solve the problem. This is actually an escape from reality. This also shows that the so-called pursuit of "spiritual freedom" has been denied by the protagonist.
Edward Norton once thought that violence was salvation, but in fact he was lost. It was not until finally resisting violence that it became his salvation.
This progressive thought is the second reason why I gave 2 stars.
As for the end of the film, Edward Norton fired a shot at himself, but it was Brad Pitt who fell, and then and the heroine hand in hand watching the buildings crashing down, I didn't understand what I was trying to explain.
