"Mentally ill"

The beginning of the film "Mentally Ill" is a panoramic view of Phoenix. The camera moves slowly and focuses on a building, a window of a building, and the top view is changed to a head-up view. The camera advances through the window that is only open. I feel that at the beginning of the film, a mysterious and indeterminate atmosphere was rendered. But after the camera advances through the window, there is a scene of a man and woman having an affair in the house, and it feels that the mysterious atmosphere has been diluted by the love of the two men. Later, the heroine stole the property of the company and fled. My thoughts were held tightly, thinking that she wanted to tell a story of escape and pursuit. However, shortly after my conclusion, a heavy rain blocked the heroine’s escape route and disrupted my thinking. The real suspense of the film appeared.
The film has an obvious turning point, which can be clearly divided into the first half and the second half. The atmosphere before and after is completely different. It can be said that they are two unrelated stories, but Hitchcock made them logically connected. It feels like he is going to make a noise.
I really like the lens language of this film, especially the wandering of some empty shots. The props and clothes inside are also in place, and every little detail is related to the plot. For example, the heroine wears white underwear and a white coat when she is affair. When fleeing with the money, he wore black underwear and dark coat.
"Mentally Ill" is a classic in movies, so there are many modern movies that have its shadow, so when we imitate the movies, look at Hitchcock's filming, although its final ending you may be I know, but they won't be able to pass the mountain of Hitchcock again.

"He was never a complete Norman, but he was always a complete mother." The psychoanalysis at the end didn't make me feel superfluous, but felt just right. The best thing about textbook movies is that long shot of cleaning blood. The director patiently showed the transition from a murder scene to a daily life scene, and this cleaning is also going on in Norman's mind. The soundtrack is too good, and the picture is very textured.

Why can the heroine mascara be painted like that! ? Doubt. Foreigners have longer eyelashes than ours!

Psycho quotes

  • Marion Crane: You can't buy off unhappiness with pills.

  • Norman Bates: The mattress is soft and there're hangers in the closet and stationary with "Bates' Motel" printed on it in case you want to make your friends back home envious.

    [nervous laughter]

Norman Bates: And, the, eh, over there.

    Marion Crane: The bathroom.

    Norman Bates: Yeah.
