"Superman for All": Actually a Romance Movie

This is another trailer that covers all the great shots. If you did not deliberately understand the plot of this film, then after watching the trailer, you will mistakenly think that this is a story of a grassroots superman from degeneration to rise, or just to subvert the traditional superman wearing underpants. Image. Before entering the theater, I almost didn't have much expectations for the plot. I went to the theater for the hot scene.

Unfortunately, this is not the blockbuster we imagined, and the length of less than 90 minutes is almost the standard of a B-level film. In the trailer, the shot of holding the police car in one hand to block the bullet and holding the policewoman to pull the wind to the extreme is almost all the excitement of that bridge. If there is no Superman duel bridge that appears later, there is almost no bridge that can burst. part. The wonderful action scenes are just elements that attract you to pay for this film, but they are not the whole thing. If this movie can be regarded as a superhero movie, then the story of this movie is far greater than its "predecessors".

Because this is almost a love movie wrapped in action. Hollywood has used countless vulgar plots to package love, and almost all superheroes also have vulgar to ink love to embellish it, but fortunately, the love in "Superman for All" surprised me a little. Even a little touched.

At the beginning of the film, Hancock (played by Will Smith) almost appeared as a downright superman. When he was flying around in mid-air holding a bottle of wine, everyone would just try their best to prepare to laugh. . At least until the biggest baggage in the film appeared, the plot has been developing as everyone imagined, and we even follow Hancock's downcast eyes to think about propositions such as loneliness, search, and true self. The film also seems to have a tendency to drag the audience in the direction of "My Legend". If it were not for the small humor that appeared in the film at any time, at least in the first half of the film, the heavy feeling presented by the film was beyond my imagination. And all of this created suspense in the sudden love afterwards. After the Superman enemies had to fight for the audience's visual enjoyment, the film quickly shifted to the theme that was supposed to be told-where did Hancock come from? This led to a more than 3,000-year love that was covered by the film. It can be said that the decadent mood that Hancock had brewed before the film was released at this time. Although the scene in the hospital was not the hottest, it was the most moving part of the whole film, especially the shooting outside the corridor. When the shots and the electric shock shots in the operating room are quickly interlaced and edited, the sadness that the whole film has tolerated is rendered to a climax. The sound of gunshots and electric shocks-one is the sound of life dying, and the other is the sound of saving lives-the shock of the overlapping of these two sounds far exceeds any burst of sound effects in the film. Although this kind of metaphor is simple, it is enough to move people-Hollywood is always good at making tear gas in the simplest way.

It can be said that the performance of "Superman for All" is beyond my expectation. The elements of superhero and love will not appear too vulgar in the film. But unfortunately, the length of the film is too short, so that the slightly hippy style in the first half of the film and the sensational style at the back seem a bit abrupt, and the happy ending of the film is a commonly used method in Hollywood, but it is not my best. What I like-the "loneliness" discussed in the first half of the film seems to have been overly sensational at the end of the film and forgot that "loneliness" actually still exists. If the first half of the film still has a taste of philosophical propositions, then the second half is completely a sensational love story. Although such a story is good-looking, it will inevitably make the story a little anticlimactic. However, Will Smith’s performance is indeed wonderful from beginning to end. The script of "Superman for All" is novel but not perfect. If it weren't for Will Smith’s outstanding performance, the effect of the film would have to be discounted. Whether it was the sadness on his face at the beginning of the film or the grief when his lover died later, Will Smith can always use his expression to infect the emotions of the audience. If it is the "superman element" in the film that makes the romance of "Superman for All" look less boring, then Will Smith makes the love in the film more moving.

Hancock quotes

  • Hancock: The way you deal with bullies - you take your right foot, bring it right up and catch him in his little piss pump.

Mary Embrey: You don't have to do that, honey. Okay? Seriously.

Aaron Embrey: It's a good idea.

Hancock: You aim straight, make sure he can't use that thing for nothin' but a flap to keep the dust out of his butt crack.

  • Hancock: [on Aaron's learning to deal with bullies] Ah the whole turn the other cheek thing huh?

    [pats Aaron's butt]

Hancock: Just never turn this cheek. Don't let them punk you.
