A true warrior is never judged by a fighting game

4.5. A must-see family sports fighting movie for a real man who will make people excited. The plot in the front of the film is a bit lengthy, but it can be watched. The protagonist's mixed martial arts match against Kobe is the climax, and it is also my favorite scene. I was so excited that I was about to cry when I watched it. The last two brothers played in the finals, very routine. I knew it must be like this at the end, so I was absent-minded. Maybe it's the traditional family concept of the Chinese since ancient times that restrained me. Whoever wins or loses on both sides depends on strength, and there is no brotherhood. I especially like the protagonist's performance to his father, especially the scene in the night. Although his father repeatedly asked him, the protagonist did not hesitate and refused directly. You didn't treat your children well, but now you are asking for this. Why? I must learn this from the protagonist. I am not a sports fan, and I learned about the sport of mixed martial arts through this movie. It is human nature to like violence. Fighters are like beasts in a cage, biting each other and performing for the people in the audience to watch.

Director Gavin O'Connor made a popular story that looks like Reader’s Digest and turned it into an impressive movie that truly brings a shocking effect to the 21st century boxing (fighting) genre. In terms of the sense of loss of honor, this is "Shawshank's Redemption" in 2011.

Warrior quotes

  • Paddy Conlon: I've got a thousand days. A thousand days sober today.

Brendan Conlon: Well, that's great, Pop. But it doesn't change anything.

Paddy Conlon: What do you mean it doesn't change anything? Have a heart, Brendan.

Brendan Conlon: You listen to me. You take your have-a-heart bullshit and you run it down the road. Run it out on someone who doesn't know you like I do.

  • Brendan Conlon: That's Tess. And that's Emily and Rosie. They're your nieces, Tommy.

    Tom Conlon: Don't know 'em.

Brendan Conlon: I know you don't know them. Of course you don't know them.

Tom Conlon: Why am I looking at pictures of people I don't know?

Brendan Conlon: Because that's my family.

Tom Conlon: And who are you exactly?

Brendan Conlon: I'm your brother, man.

Tom Conlon: You were in the Corps?

    Brendan Conlon: What?

Tom Conlon: I said I didn't know you were in the Corps.

Brendan Conlon: I wasn't in the Corps.

Tom Conlon: Then you ain't no brother to me. My brother was in the Corps.
