"Imitation Game": When the difference has not been accepted, there will be no real peace.

"Geniuses are always naive, open, and undefended to face this world occupied by mediocrities, and pay to the world with enthusiasm. The world treats them, but it is often a pot of dirty water poured down."

Alan Turing is known as the "Father of Computer Science" and "The Father of Artificial Intelligence". He is a rare mathematical genius in a century. During World War II, it was he who invented the first machine for rapid code deciphering. This not only laid the foundation for the development of computer science, but also saved tens of millions of lives.

But it was this top genius who made great contributions to the world, but suffered cruel chemical castration after the war, and finally chose to commit suicide by taking poison to end his life. The story behind it is too sad.

The film "Imitation Game" was adapted from the biography "The Biography of Alan Turing" written by Rue Hodges. The film won the 87th Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. The screenwriter of the film Graham Moore said when he received the award, "Turing had no chance to stand on the stage and be commended, but I had a chance. This is not fair. I hope to take this opportunity to pay tribute to him."

The life of a genius is not as glorious as one might imagine, and it may even be unusually bumpy.

The film is not a linear narrative, but through the three clues of middle school, research and final judgment, it vividly shows the life situation of Turing at different stages in three-dimensional.

"Sometimes, it happens that the most unexpected people will accomplish the most unexpected things."

This sentence appeared three times in the film, echoing the state of the characters in different periods.

The rhythm of the film is very consistent, and the ending is unexpected. It's not a structure of ups and downs, but constantly advancing, squeezing, and accelerating the rhythm. In the end, it is like the huge impact that I felt when I read the last page of "A Hundred Years of Solitude", the lingering uncomfortable feeling left in my chest. But it was so empty that people could not speak, as if they had lost something.

At the beginning, it was Turing, a genius young man in middle school. Due to his personality differences and different living habits, he was ostracized by his classmates at school, and suffered repeated school violence... Fortunately, there is another person who has been with him. Inspiring his friend Christopher, he told Turing that he was just different, and believed that Turing could accomplish unimaginable things, and led him into the decoding game.

It is precisely because of Christopher that Turing knew that he was not an alien, and that he was just thinking differently from others.

It was Christopher who made Turing recognize and accept his true self. When he was in darkness, Christopher was his only light.

Once again, Turing met Joan, a genius girl who is also good at decoding. At the time, everyone thought that girls should find a decent job and let go of their dreams to live a uniform life. But Turing believed in Joan and believed that she could break the shackles and realize her life ambitions. He tried his best to persuade Joan to participate in the work of cracking Engels' code.

Turing not only has the grace to meet Joan, but also the person who understands her. Only he knows what kind of strong belief and power there is in her soft body.

Since then, Joan has followed Turing firmly. She is not only Turing's right-hand man in career, but also a bridge to help him integrate in life.

In order for Joan to stay and continue to work, Turing is engaged to him. Turing likes to talk to Joan and likes to work with her, but he doesn't love her. Joan knows this too, but she likes Turing and is willing to stay by his side for that knowledge.

The love between Turing and Joan is not friendship, nor love, but it is not weaker than friendship and love. It is a kind of long-term love for each other wholeheartedly, and loyalty that is willing to accompany it for a lifetime.

It is precisely because of the support and help of Joan and several mathematics geniuses that, with the joint efforts of everyone, they finally managed to overcome the problem and make the machine run successfully.

It was the most fulfilling and happy time, struggling towards the same goal. People who were incompatible with each other accepted and appreciated each other and became partners in business and friends in life.

As the story progresses, the context of the story becomes clearer and clearer. When the movie ends, everything suddenly becomes clear, but Turing's life has also come to the end, leaving only a sad regret.

Together, they cracked the most difficult Engema code, bringing the Second World War to an end at least two years earlier. However, several great mathematicians, including Turing, can only be unsung heroes behind their backs. In order to protect secrets, they were scattered all over the world at the end of the war.

Originally, Turing could still be engaged in his most beloved academic research, but a disaster stretched out his magic claws.

In all the thefts, the mathematician coldly refused the police's assistance in the investigation, and was therefore suspected that he was hiding a huge secret, and he was even suspected of being a spy. After some difficult investigations and evidence collection, it was finally discovered that Turing’s secret had nothing to do with state secrets. What he wanted to conceal was his homosexuality...

At that time, homosexuality was an unforgivable crime. Even such a person who made a great contribution to the peace of the country and the world could not escape the legal and moral trial: either imprisonment for two years or hormonal therapy.

Saved so many people, but couldn't save myself.

Turing rejected Joan's help, not wanting to delay her life because of himself, he decided to separate from Joan. Then reluctantly performed passive hormone therapy. He just wanted to continue working and could not accept to be separated from that machine for two years. That machine is called "Christopher". He has lost his favorite Christopher once in reality and cannot be alone again.

However, how can hormone therapy really cure him? He has no disease at all, but he was cured after taking hormones for a long time, his thinking became rigid, his hands and feet trembled, and he was listless.

What really crushed him was the indifference of human nature and the prejudice in his bones.

The person who understands his difference is no longer alive. He loves him and thinks of him like a madness, but there is nowhere to say a word of love and longing.

He has saved the lives of tens of thousands of people, and he made a big step forward in science, but he was brutalized so that people are not like people and ghosts are not like ghosts, until they no longer want to survive in the world.

Conquer the most difficult password in the world, but only can't understand human nature.

Turing really interprets what it means to be "a great place to win the cold". A true genius, but walked almost lonely all his life, except for Christopher who accompanied him in middle school, except for the "Christopher" who accompanied him in the end. Machine, when will he open his heart?

In 1954, 41-year-old Turing committed suicide by taking medicine at home. At the best stage of his life, he was tortured beyond recognition by "hormone therapy" and passed away in despair. Half a century later, thanks to tens of thousands of people's petitions and the efforts of dozens of high-level figures, Turing was finally rehabilitated.

On December 24, 2013, Turing finally received a royal pardon. “Turing’s old life was forced to cast a shadow because of his homosexual orientation. We believe that the judgment at that time was unfair, and this discrimination is now also true. It has been abolished. For this, the queen decided to grant a pardon for this great man as a tribute to him."

Alan Mathison Turing

He finally got rid of the charge of "obvious indecency and sexual reversal", but it was too late for Turing.

He has benefited the world, but the world owes him a lot.

Perhaps a genius will never be understood by his contemporaries. Even if a genius appears in reality, he will still be regarded as a freak and vilified by the public. Until society continues to develop, he will be understood in the future.

Things are either black or white. What is really sad is that people's thoughts cannot keep up with the times. Too many prejudices are taken for granted, so one tragedy occurs one after another.

When the difference has not been accepted, there will be no real peace.

With the standard configuration of the Academy Award, it is neat, smooth, and monotonous, and has a strong temperament. The themes of World War II, genius, and comrades are a panacea. With a lot of outstanding actors, AD's sensational soundtrack, fine photography and art, it should be very beautiful. In the end, Turing was photographed like this, which is still too small for others. 3.5.
