Chris gave up his degree from a prestigious university. He gave up the opportunity to go to Harvard for further studies. He gave up all the fame and power in the city, and gave up the new car given by his parents. "No money to live. "Be more comfortable." In this way, he burned all his money and went on the road with ease. There was no fear. He went to find himself in the purest nature. His life. Only in the two years of his travels, he played the greatest glory. No too much luggage. Only a large and old backpack. There are necessities and a few books. Away from the city. Away from the noise. Away from everything dirty.
Chris is an idealist. He chose his way. He has no hesitation. Nothing. Right and wrong. Maybe to escape. Maybe just want to wander. On the road.
He met many people during the trip. Sometimes it’s really easy and natural without money. You don’t need much defense. You can talk to everyone easily. All feelings naturally become innocent. He keeps walking. Saying goodbye to every deep emotional person. Saying goodbye to friendship. Saying goodbye to love. Maybe loneliness. But never lonely. He just wants to see a real world.
Look . Look at us, how much time we have. How much youth we still have. I want to be on the road again and again, and again and again to dodge. I am so eager to travel. So eager to be free. But there are too many fetters. This is also the reason why I like this movie. One. Travel. "Even if only once, I must prove myself. Even if I have only once, I must discover myself in the most original ecology.
" I envy him. But I can't do it. But I believe. One day, I will also abandon it. Things that shouldn't be attached to me. Pursue freedom. Perseverance.
"Some people will ask
why not wait for action now. Some may ask, "why act now? why not wait? The
answer is clear that the world will not wait for you.
The answer is clear. the world could wait no longer."
The world won’t wait for anyone. Why don’t we act? We are timid. So we can only find solace in movies and books like this. I have read many books about travel. I sigh every time. Then I still live my own life. Life. When will I wait. I don’t know. While I’m waiting. How many people have packed their bags and got ready to go on the road. And I’ll always just look at their backs away. I don’t want to wait anymore.

Stubborn old man.
Simple. Let everyone who desires freedom want to be on the road right away. No one wants to be a stubborn old man.
He is about our age. But he has another life. His choice. Anyone You can choose. Choose your own way. Choose whom to live for. At the end of the movie, the picture of Chris sitting in front of the car smiling is enlarged a little bit to make it clear. His smile is so brilliant. So free. Like an angel. Maybe. His life is short. But by no means wasted. The pace of the whole film is slow. It makes people look very relaxed. Until the last touch of blue sky. The dream has been fixed in the vast sky.
Two years of walking. No phone, no swimming pool, no lover, no tobacco. Ultimate freedom. An extremist, a fussy navigator with his home on the road. From Atlanta, he won't go back. Because "the West is the best". After two years of wandering, the end is finally reached, and the great expedition is about to begin. The climax of a battle with one's own mistakes, the victory of spiritual worship ended. 10 day and night hitchhiker finally came to the great north. No longer poisoned by civilization, fleeing and walking on this land, and finally lost in the wilderness.
