I totally agree that this series is the best action movie series, and this one is the best action movie. And it's not just the action.
The theme of this series is always evolving.
Byrne is a spy film series, but from the beginning he is different from other spy films. In the first episode, there are no high-tech weapons commonly seen in spy films, no money beauties, only an amnesiad agent. By the third episode, he has completely stood on the opposite side of ordinary spy movies.
Spy films flourished during the Cold War, and the most typical representative is of course the 007 series. Such movies are full of conspiracy theories, and the world is always on the verge of danger. The protagonist is an unseen spy who fights against conspirators, of course, has privileges, the greatest privilege is murder. So the license to kill is almost synonymous with 007.
And Byrne is an agent who has lost his memory. In the first episode, he also killed a lot of people, and in the second episode, he almost did not kill (except for revenge for his girlfriend). In the third episode, not only did he deliberately avoid killing, but the target of the whole movie is the traditional spy story, the spy organization that abandons humanity to kill people at will in the name of national security.
Byrne told the killer at the end of the movie that they took your humanity away. This is the most direct complaint against a murder license.
Byrne used his own power to fight against the monster that had no name, no humanity, and could only be called an organization, and he played the opponent in the palm of his hand most of the time. For people like me, of course, there will be great movie-watching pleasure.
The action scene in the Moroccan section of the movie is very exciting. But it's not just wonderful. Watching Byrne running desperately on the roof, it is easy to remember that he missed his favorite in the second episode. So there is a sense of atonement for that running. This is not just exciting, but touching.
In the first episode of Byrne, Byrne's feelings are very confused. He doesn't know who he is or what he should do. In the end he chose to give up the past and leave with his favorite person. In the second episode, after losing his favorite, he faces a double loss while looking for the tragedy he caused. The emotion in the second episode is sad. And in the third episode, Byrne said that asking for forgiveness would not hurt him. He must find out the truth behind him and recognize himself in order to forgive himself. In this episode, he became more brave and resolute than at any time in the past.
Byrne first started this series in a coma in the water, and finally he woke up from the water and wrote a complete end to the series.
