Smith: Mr. Anderson, welcome back, we missed you. You like what I've done with the place?
Neo: It ends tonight.
Smith: I know it does, I've seen it. That's why the rest of me is just going to enjoy the show, because we've already known that I'm the one that beats you.
Smith: Can you feel it, Mr. Anderson, closing is on you? Oh, I can. I really should thank you for it, Mr. Anderson, after all, it was your life that taught me the purpose of all life—— the purpose of life is to end.
Smith: Why, Mr. Anderson, why? Why? Why do you do this? Why, why get up? Why keep fighting? Do you believe you are fighting for something? Can you tell me what it is? Do you even know? ! Are you fighting for freedom or truce, perhaps peace, could it be for love? Illusions, Mr. Anderson, vagaries of perception, temporary constructs of a feeble human intellect trying desperately to justify an existence without meaning or purpose! And all of them are as just artificial as Matrix itself. Although, only a human mind can create something as insipid as love. But you must be able to see it, Mr. Anderson, you must know it by now, you can't win, it's pointless to keep fighting. Why, Mr. Anderson, why do you persist?!
Neo: Because I choose to.
Smith: This is my world, my world! Wait, I've seen this. This is it, this is the end. Yes, you were laying right there, just like that, and I, I stand right here, I suppose to say something, what I say, I say: "everything that has a beginning has an end, Neo." Wait, what? What did I just say? No, no, no, this isn't suppose to be it. Get away from me!
Neo: What are you afraid of, Smith?
Smith: This is a trick!
Neo: That's right, Smith, you are always right. It's inevitable.
Smith: No, no, no. This isn't fair.
Summary: In the end, I felt that Smith was quite pitiful. At first he wanted to be free as an anti-virus software but was killed by Neo. After the resurrection, his carefully designed plan was built on the blueprint of the enemy’s building, and he would be the enemy of everything alone. Together to exterminate, all the struggles only contributed to the reincarnation of another generation of saviors-plus a wave of people sent to the human beings whom he despised and mocked, and also contributed to a short-term peace. Presumably the sentence "This isn't fair" that he had insight into everything before he died should be what we often say——
MMP.
