Impulse is the devil

Banner's unique charm lies in the ability to control emotions because of understanding himself.

At the beginning of the film, Banner followed the wrestlers to learn how to control emotions. Because of this calmness and self-control, he behaves more rationally. Even after the transformation, Betty's reassurance can dispel impulsive emotions and face himself again.

On the contrary, Bronsky broke the bottom line with the hatred in his heart because of the defeat. When the high ground of reason falls, the temple of benevolence and kindness collapses, waiting for him will be a path of no return.

Impulse is the devil, calm makes people wise.

The Incredible Hulk quotes

  • [last lines]

Gen. Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross: [in a bar] Reload...

    [finishes his drink]

    Gen. Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross: Reload...

[someone enters the bar and walks toward Ross]

Tony Stark: The smell of stale beer... and defeat. You know, I hate to say "I told you so," but that Super-Soldier project *WAS* put on ice for a reason. I've always felt that hardware was much more reliable.

    Gen. Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross: Stark.

    Tony Stark: General.

Gen. Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross: You always wear such nice suits.

Tony Stark: Touché. I hear you have an unusual problem.

Gen. Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross: You should talk!

Tony Stark: You should listen. What if I told you we were putting a team together?

Gen. Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross: Who's "we"?

    [Stark looks silently at Ross]

  • Betty Ross: What is it like? When it happens, what do you experience?

Bruce Banner: Remember those experiments we volunteered for at Harvard? Those induced hallucination? It's a lot like that, just a thousand times amplified. It's like someone poured a litre of acid into my brain.

Betty Ross: Do you remember anything?

Bruce Banner: Just fragments. Images. There's too much noise. I can never derive anything out of it.

Betty Ross: But then it's still YOU inside of it.

Bruce Banner: No. No, it's not.

Betty Ross: I don't know. In the cave, I really felt like it knew me. Maybe your mind is in there, it's just overcharged and can't process what's happening.

Bruce Banner: I don't want to control it. I want to get rid of it.
