Representative of Super Westerns

What is interesting about "The Good, the Bad and the Gold" (1966) are the close-ups of this film. These close-ups have gone far beyond the function of emphasizing details and expressing emotions. Instead, they have added a kind of "stalemate confrontation", the "confrontation between people" "It seems to mimic the animal's action before the battle is to look straight. The scene scheduling and composition design are also unexpected. Good's scheduling from a distance to the camera shows the strength of the violence. When Ugly finds that the gold coin is proud, the camera shakes down and a hanging rope is in front of her, using the camera movement. And composition brings narrative reversal expression and so on. This movie is a richer and more complete movie than the early westerns. It has a novel narrative, embedded historical background, literary thinking and symbolic names such as "good bad ugly" for the characters. The highly developed narrative may provide some models for later other film genres, such as the treasure hunt elements that often appear in Gallic movies. For example, the violent aesthetics and the portrayal of the "bounty hunter" in Quentin's movies. It may be a movie closer to Bazin's eyes of the "super western" state. The film genre named by region seems to be the only "western film", no matter why the development of "western film" in China and the United States is so rich? I personally think that regardless of China and the United States, in the west from ancient to present, from the natural environment to the humanities, ethnicity, etc., they are in an uncertain change. And it is this kind of "uncertainty" that brings rich story material, the fragile natural environment in western China ("Kekexili"), the ethnic mixture ("Red River Valley") and even many unknown and barren land ("No Man's Land") ), wars were frequent in history ("Heaven and Earth Heroes"), and poverty was closed ("No One Can Be Less", "Qiu Ju fights a lawsuit"). Even the "mournfulness" brought about by constant changes can become the subject of a movie ("Life"). This is especially true in the Western United States in the past. The background in this film is war and the story is treasure hunting. Everything is rippling in a kind of uncertainty. What's more interesting is that the treasure they are looking for is in a grave. It seems that nothing is uncertain and only "lying" in the grave is eternal. So when ugly ran fast in the graves, this magical pen pushed the film to its climax!
