Evil is not necessarily sad

"Cidade de Deus (City of God)" scored so high on IMDB, but I didn't feel anything when I watched it. The film is quite attractive, structuralism breaks up the story, but the combination is not boring at all. The top 50 movies did not touch me as much as "Requiem of Dreams", or in other words, it didn't touch me at all. To borrow from the ghost, the tragedy is to throw beautiful things to others, but I am sorry that the ugly things can not arouse my sympathy. Questioning the fate of others belongs to the understanding of religious believers who want to save the world. I am powerless and never interested in this. Being born without hope is indeed a tragedy, but it is really difficult to produce the "effect" of the tragedy. A bandit who killed countless people with a gun was shot to death, and another cycle appeared on the scene, from which I could not see pain or despair, I only saw another order and the possibility and reality of survival. Under such circumstances, killing and depravity are reasonable, and looking at such hell scenes from the background is actually an unreasonable molestation of self-preserving moral superiority. Simply put, without feelings, without ethics, and viewed purely and biologically, what the whole movie shows is a way of existence that is generally regarded as "evil". I am very happy to see that "evil" is self-consuming and highly unstable internally, and has the ability to assimilate "good", but its self-development ability is extremely poor, so its share in this world is really limited. The world is complicated, the world is not heaven, and the "City of God" is an inevitable corner. Indeed, their lives are hell, but so what? Compassion requires the qualifications for sympathy, and the first step in qualification is to rejoice.

Even on the same planet, there is still a place that is completely different from me, there are so many people who are different from me, living in different houses from me, doing different things from me, and there is a director who uses Films of a style I've never seen before. It's a Rio I haven't seen in books or on TV, and that's what makes the movie so appealing.
