I won’t say much about the plot of the film. I believe people who have watched it will be hard to forget. People who have not watched it will also get a general idea after reading the previous film reviews. I won’t repeat it here. There are many people who talk about violence, incest, eroticism and other images in the film. In fact, in terms of the processing of these images alone, in terms of violence or eroticism, some other Korean movies are better than others. It's a lot better, and director Park Chan-wook didn't just want to attract attention with these exciting shots, because he found something more capable of catching people's hearts-revenge.
Wu Daxiu vowed to take revenge because of her innocence and was imprisoned. He would not hesitate to endure 15 years of imprisonment. He did not hesitate to use a chopstick to dig through the wall to gain freedom; after escaping from the cage, he would seek revenge from the person who imprisoned him, even if Faced with dozens of gangsters holding knives and guns; after knowing that there was another black hand behind the control of the whole incident, when facing the black hand behind the scenes, because he wanted to figure out the cause of the matter, he let his enemy presumptuous in front of him; After the gang boss who imprisoned him took revenge, he still yelled to cut off his hand touching the breast of his beloved woman when he was about to be pryed off, and he cut off his tongue with his own hands in exchange for not letting his daughter. After knowing the truth, he still pressed the heart erection remote control of Li Yuzhen (the black hand behind the scenes) to kill Li Yuzhen. What is the reason why Wu Daxiu is so frantic, unscrupulous, regardless of the cost, and go all the way without repentance? Just because of revenge!
When facing pain, people may shrink back, stay away from the source of pain, and may not be able to support death. But Wu Daxiu widened her eyes to face the torture she was going to endure. He still had to get to the bottom and let the other person taste it. His own pain was finally avenged by Li Yuzhen, who was more vindictive, and fell into even greater endless pain. What allowed hatred to develop to such a degree that it would use it to the extreme? Perhaps it is a memorial to the past, a compensation to the past, a seal of memories, and nostalgia for the loss.
When a person has only hatred in his heart, no one can change him, no one can stop him, only when the hatred is vented, the person can be freed, and when the hatred also dies, perhaps life has no meaning to exist anymore. . Just as Li Yuzhen chose to die, even if he decided to die a long time ago, he would have to tease Wu Daxiu again, making him think that he could kill him with the remote control, but he heard the recording of having sex with his daughter, fearing Li Yuzhen’s revenge again. Wu Daxiu's painful and desperate expression gave Li Yuzhen another vent of hatred. When the two men were dying, they still thought of revenge, how to avenge each other.
The film shocked me a lot. The wonderful performances of the two male actors, especially Choi Min Ho, gave the audience the motivation to watch the somewhat absurd plot that was not very acceptable. And director Park Chan-wook’s close-up shots that made you face your fears have also made me unforgettable for a long time. Even while watching the movie, I also developed fear in my heart. Maybe one day this world will really happen like the story in Park Chan-wook's "Vengeance Trilogy", but I hope this day will never come.
