Maybe it’s not just science fiction

More than ten years ago, watching the first episode of "Future Warrior", what fascinated me was not science fiction, but the main line of the story. Why did the robot leader send the Terminator to return to the past to end the life of the future human leader’s mother? As a result, the human warrior who was also sent from the future to protect her created the birth of the future human leader. Afterwards, I gradually realized that this was ethically understandable: because of the so-called foresight of the future, it is possible that your subsequent behavior itself creates the future you foresee. When I understand some of the situations in life and work, I understand this truth even more. For example, people in love are afraid of losing each other and doing everything possible to think that they can always have each other’s backfire; for example, the plot in the TV series "Chinese-style divorce", because She was afraid that he would cheat, and did something that would hurt the people with him and affect him. In the end, this led to the divorce.

I am very afraid of the feeling brought by "Future Soldier". Sometimes this kind of truth brings the situation: Either go to death or wait for death.

I watched the second episode the same way. After thinking about it, the second episode still has a positive meaning, as if there must be hope that is destined to accompany sorrow. When the Terminator ends himself, it seems to tell me that even if it is destined You can still stop something through hard work. But after watching the third episode, I think that from then on, I have subverted the hope mentioned in the second episode, because the war between humans and robots is still inevitable: fate is a prescribed journey, which is not accepted but never evaded.

I don’t know how I will watch the fourth episode in the future. Will it talk about the process of fate, and will not lose the meaning of the sacrificed hope, just like I am waiting for the fate of watching the movie, using "Future The story of "Warrior" accompanies my life and the reasons I love this movie.

    The Terminator: No.

John Connor: You don't feel any emotion about it one way or another?

The Terminator: No. I have to stay functional until my mission is complete. Then it doesn't matter.

John Connor: Yeah. I have to stay functional too. I'm "too important".

  • John Connor: We need to get my mother.

The Terminator: Negative. The T-1000's highest probability for success now will be to copy Sarah Connor and to wait for you to make contact with her.

John Connor: Great, but what happens to her?

The Terminator: Typically, the subject being copied is terminated.

John Connor: Shit! Why didn't you tell me? We gotta go right now!

The Terminator: Negative. She's not a mission priority.

John Connor: Fuck you! She's a priority to me!
