It was the loudest and most enthusiastic movie crowd I've been with for quite some time. People were cheering and clapping constantly, some even started a crowd wave before the movie began.
11:55pm, the trailers started. Wow, they showed a LOT of trailers, lots of big blockbusters, but the one that stuck out to me the most was "Fantastic Four" . Another marvel comic book turn movie, it really looked fantastic!
Finally, the movie starts. I have to say, when I saw the vast sea of stars as a backdrop for the big title STAR WARS, the rolling of the words which crawls into infinity, along with the familiar music, my heart was racing.
Onto the movie itself, I don't want to spoil it to anybody, even though almost eveybody knows what this movie is about and what is to happen. What I can say is that I loved it. It has all the galactic actions that I wanted to see, and without all the supposedly romantic dialogs that were so cheesy and pretentious from Episode II. (although there are still some, but it's bearable) The story is very strong, I felt that it really tied up all the loose ends from all the movies. I could really feel Darth Vadar's pain at the end, about how and why he became what he became later on, and how much suffering he went through to get there. I especially liked the scene when we saw the physical transformation, it was very powerful and satisfying.
And of course, seeing Chewbacca in the movie is such a treat. He's just so cute!^^
By the time we were leaving the movie theater, I actually felt kind of sad. Think about it, this is the LAST time we will see a Star Wars movie for the first time on the big screen ever again. Like Nikita said, I' m honored to be part of this cultural phenomenon.
