Real racing movie-rush

I really hate the translation of "speedy romantic", why rush is romantic, so earthy, so low, it doesn't reflect the theme of the movie at all. Lauda and Hunter compete in racing cars. One is introverted and the other is exuberant. They have different lives and different personalities. Their stories are very fascinating. On a rainy day, at the Devil’s Track, Lauda wanted to cancel the race, but Hunter refused. As a result, there was an accident during the race. Lauda’s car exploded. Lauda suffered severe burns and was dying. The priest had come to the hospital to pray. The first words Lauda woke up: Let the priest go, I'm still alive. F1 is a dangerous sport, and champions need to pay a price. Looking at Lauda in the hospital, his face was severely burned, and he yelled in pain when he unloaded the medical tape. The Austrian circuit was broadcast on TV. He could not participate in his home court. Lauda couldn't compete. Hunter came from behind. Lauda was even more attractive. Hunter's victory became less delightful. The sight of Lauda enduring pain and wearing a helmet was distressing, and his wife couldn't stand it. However, he still played. Niki Lauda finished fourth, but he won the applause of everyone. At the last Japan station, it rained again, and Niki Lauda withdrew from the race. He said: It's too dangerous. Hunter won the championship, but it is no longer so important. Two years later, Hunter retired, and Niki Lauda later won the championship. Hunter died of a heart attack at the age of 45. Hans Zimmer’s music sounded, this is the real racing movie.

Rush quotes

  • [last lines]

Niki Lauda: Of course he didn't listen to me. For James, one world title was enough. He had proved what he needed to prove. To himself and anyone who doubted him. And two years later, he retired. When I saw him next in London, seven years later, me as a champion again, him as broadcaster, he was barefoot on a bicycle with a flat tire, still living each day like his last. When I heard he died age 45 of a heart attack, I wasn't surprised. I was just sad. People always think of us as rivals but he was among the very few I liked and even fewer that I respected. He remains the only person I envied.

Niki Lauda: Twenty five drivers start every season in Formula One, and each year two of us die. What kind of person does a job like this? Not normal men, for sure. Rebels, lunatics, dreamers. People who are that desperate to make a mark, and are prepared to die trying. My name is Niki Lauda, and racing people know me for two things. The first is my rivalry with him.

    [James Hunt]

Niki Lauda: I don't know why it became such a big thing. We were just drivers busting each other's balls. To me this is perfectly normal, but other people saw in differently. That whatever it was between us went deeper. The other thing I'm remembered for is what happened on 1st August 1976, when I was chasing him like an asshole...
