Vikings, a group of barbarians who believe in Norse mythology. Under the rule of a clan system, burning, killing, looting, adultery, captivity and abuse. In this primitive slavery tribe, a different character was born. I want to take risks, I want to see the world, I am very interested in new things, and full of the primitive instinctive wisdom of barbarians.
It is also the story of the barbarians, and I can't help telling a similar drama, Spartacus, but the Viking legend is much more gentle and introverted than Spartacus.
Spartacus is not so much a Roman historical drama, as it is an adrenaline stimulant full of killing and fucking, taking the sensory route of completely liberating nature, so that the time when watching it is endless. In addition to a few occasions when the Viking Legend shows blood and leaks the back of his thighs, most of the time he is telling stories. The story of a barbarian conquering a civilized man.
Ragnar Lothbrok took his brother and good friends with him, without fear of death, and explored the island of England. The Saxons who did not understand the language also wanted to do business with the Vikings. As a result, the huge gap in which they could not communicate led to conflicts. It is not difficult to understand that the builders of the Tower of Babel were punished by God so that the birds and beasts scattered if they didn't understand the language. One of the highlights of this story is the clash of civilizations. So the Vikings worked with the Saxons. The barbarians are strong and combative. They regard the death of war as entering the temple of Odin. Their combat skills are as pure as fire. The shield wall and phalanx, under strict tactical discipline, are textbook-like and ruthlessly slaughter the Saxons. There is no blood and personal heroism in the close combat. It accurately shows the tactical configuration of the ancient battlefield like a documentary. The personal tactical literacy is more displayed in cooperation with the team. At first glance, it is like playing house. It's fun to watch. The irony is that the Germans were originally barbarians and also destroyed the Roman Empire, but now they are no match for the more barbarous Vikings. It seems that the world is just more barbarous than anyone else.
This film is interesting here. He is not just a cliché describing a story about the adrenaline-driven, traditional Western-style second-year young protagonist and his good friends killing and fucking with dreams. It also technically encompasses the conflict of civilizations, the deduction of ancient battlefield tactics, the contradictions and embarrassments of religion, the crisis of belief, the suppression and seizure of power in the scheming court battles, family ethics, and strong and independent women. Every character in it has also been baptized and grown in the constant killing, entanglement, confusion, collapse, and it is really an interesting historical drama.
