The justice of the peace, Mr. Diego de Zama, a god who was born unable to die. His loneliness is cruel, and his management is very powerful. He is a soothing pacifier for Indians and a man who can do justice without drawing a sword. There is no accident or risk, Zama will not hide his obligations, the "executive chief" Zama, a man with a spirit of justice, a law enforcement officer, a judge, and a fearless man.

Zama himself is a tragic person, and his life is destined to be a tragedy.

He was trapped in a place where he was the "chief executive". There is a kind of fish that spends a lifetime swimming around, fighting against the water, so as not to be thrown on the dry land, because the water repels it, and the water does not want it. Zama is like this fish. He was a sheriff in the colony of the Spanish Kingdom in South America and a civil servant of the royal family. He seemed to have the power to kill in his hands, but he was deeply persecuted by the colonial system. The official start of the film was pulled away by this group of suffering fish. These long-suffering fish are attached to the elements that repel them. They spend all their energy just to stay in place. You will never find them in the middle of the river, but you can always find them on the shore. The director has already expressed Zama's life metaphor from the beginning, and Zama's life is the life of this suffering fish.

The biggest suspense of the film, the most absurd place, in Zama asked Fernandez to write to his wife who is far away in Remar. "My wife, my Marta, I am writing to you with great concern. For 14 months, I have been waiting for news from you and my children. The governor told me that I will be leaving soon, governor Assure me that I will leave soon. This is the reason why Zama has been waiting and enduring silently. In order to be reunited with his family, Zama could not leave freely. He can only leave here with the king’s order. Lerma, I just don’t understand why Zama didn’t take his wife and children over. When I watched it for the second time, I gradually understood that the justice of the peace has no private residences, no servants, but only one justice. Official assistant, and also an assistant at work. He is not the governor, nor the minister of finance. He does not want them to own a private mansion. He cannot guarantee that his wife and children will be safe in such a place full of bandits, malaria, and occlusion. A happy life. He actually doesn’t have to wait, but his incomprehension makes him lose every opportunity to go. It’s undeniable that the times are the root of Zama tragedy. In the colonial bureaucracy, Zama It’s almost impossible to realize the aspirations of the United States through normal channels, that is, this is a reasonable demand.

Zama has been threatened all his life. The businessman used his wife Marta to threaten him to help the Orientes, and the governor threatened him with his ordinances to make an unfair sentence. Zama silently endured being deceived by Luciana, by Prieto's top bag, being hurt by Rita, being abandoned by Emilia, betrayed by Fernández, being used by the governor, being teased by the natives, Was cut off by Vicuna Bordeaux... In the end, Zama gave up his aspirations to be a colonial sheriff, becoming like an aboriginal, just wanting to live. The Zama tragedy itself is a kind of irony, it is a reflection of human behavior, what can be lost for a person, and what is the most important? Asking civilized people, when we are naked, the instinct of animals is undoubtedly exposed, the desire for life.

Forrest Gump is upright, even dull, Zama is also upright, but purely like a child. In that era, only people like Venturo Prieto and Vicuna Bordeaux could live well. Justice always came late, and power always came early. Zama bitterly believed in Luciana, but didn't know that she and her lover Prieto conspired to deceive. In the film, Zama only told Luciana that he was going to Lerma, but from the Governor’s mouth Learned that Prieto had been transferred to Lerma. In Zama desperately asked the Governor why a deported person can freely choose a destination, and even get a recommendation? The governor only faintly told people that he was leaving. Later, when Zama went to Luciana's house for the third time, everything was revealed. Zama watched Luciana and Prieto flirting outside the door, standing indifferently for a long time. In fact, the eyes of the maid Marumba have already explained everything. At this point, Marumba sympathized with Zama, and did not open the door late, leaving in his eyes, but Zama was too kind.

The appointment of the new governor, for Zama, undoubtedly aggravated the speed at which his tragedy began. It is still a trivial matter to be scolded by the governor. Being driven out of the city’s accommodation is not a big deal, but Zama is forced to write a report and do Zama’s work. What he felt injustice in his conscience was a heavy blow to Zama mentally. Just after Zama had fulfilled any unreasonable demands made by the governor, he was told that it would take two years before the news could be passed on to the king. Zama reluctantly accepted the reality, but did not dare to resist. He had to wait and suffer. Struggle.

The film didn’t tell us how long Zama waited after the Governor sent the first letter. Zama reappeared on the screen but he was full of beards, and he was a lot more haggard and older. It was sad. It was in a cheerful background music that Zama accepted the task of getting rid of Vicuna Porto. This is a task that will risk huge lives. No one is willing to accept such a task, but if he threatens Zama with a transfer order, Zama has to accept it.

Then, it was a death trip for Zama, and Vikunya hid among them. In the end, Zama abide by the principles of being a justice of the peace, but at the cost of being cut off by Vicugna.

In the end, Zama was asked by his illegitimate son: "Do you want to live?" Zama nodded strenuously.
