Last year, I accidentally read a book called "Non-stop" and got to know the well-known Japanese director and screenwriter Hirokazu Edema. The stories in the book are delicate and tender, and there are always things that make you constantly sigh about family affection. Later, I also watched the film version of "Non-stop", and explained the white space in the film in the book. His work is like a clear cup of tea, tasteless in the mouth, but when you take a few sips, you will find a long aftertaste.
The movie "Miracle" is a 2011 work by Hirokazu Edema. The story is about a family of four. The brothers separated because of their parents' divorce. My elder brother came to Kagoshima with my mother (sorry I thought about five centimeters per second) to live with my grandparents, and my younger brother lives in Fukuoka with my father who plays music. By chance, my brother heard that the two newly opened Shinkansen will meet in Kumamoto at a speed of 260 kilometers per hour. If a wish is made when the first train meets, then the wish will come true and a miracle will occur. The older brother who wanted his parents to get back together began to plan this wishing plan. He wanted to make a wish for the volcano in Kagoshima to erupt so that he could move out of here and return to Osaka to live with a family, so a group of children started this time. Wishing journey.
The narrative of the film starts with two lines in parallel, one line tells the life of the older brother in Kagoshima, and the other line tells the life of the younger brother in Fukuoka, the two interspersed with the narrative, and then they meet. This method is very interesting to show under the director's lens. For example, just now the two brothers were swimming, eating, and talking about their dreams and wishes with their friends in different places and at the same time. During this process, the director narrated the story very delicately. For example, when my brother sees someone else’s mother taking his brother to see him to learn to swim, he will feel unhappy; knowing that his brother will soon have new friends and have a very happy life. .
Through the description in the first half of the paragraph, the audience seems to be able to feel that the elder brother wants to stay together again, but the younger brother is not so hopeful. The director also made some foreshadowings and hints. For example, the elder brother was unhappy all day, while the younger brother seemed to live a happy life and smiled every day; the elder brother had a dream, and the family had a picnic on the lawn. The younger brother’s dream was a scene where his mother was furious because his father resigned for the third time, and the family was noisy. So the younger brother has never paid much attention to his brother's plan.
Until one time when his brother quarreled with him because of his indifference, his brother's friend asked him whether it was okay to argue with his brother? He said that we are brothers with one heart. At first, my friend said that if we don’t see each other for a long time, she will be cold. At this time, the younger brother was silent. Later, with the help of friends, the two brothers reconciled as before. So the two sides began to work hard for this plan.
But when everyone shouted their wishes at the moment when the train met, his brother was silent, and he said nothing. At that moment, the director flashed back many of the previous scenes, but at that time he couldn't understand what he wanted to express. When the two brothers separated, the younger brother said that he can rest assured that your wish will come true soon. My brother said that I didn't express that wish. Faced with my family and the world, I chose the world instead of my family. why? Because he thought about it, his father told him that he hopes you will not only care about yourself when you grow up, but also hope that you will learn to care about his things, such as music and the world. In addition, he remembered that the conductor said on the platform that 50 people died in the eruption of the volcano 20 years ago. So he gave up his wish and chose the world.
The film still inherits the exquisite style, fixed shots, and close-ups of some characters. Use the character's actions to highlight the character's heart, rather than explain something through the lines and tears. For example, when my elder brother saw a photo of himself and his younger brother when he was about to leave, he specially changed into the clothes he was wearing in the photo; after meeting the two people ate potato chips together, and asked each other to eat their favorite potato chip residue. They said, we used to quarrel about eating potato chips, maybe this is growth! The director just clicked, and lightly touched your heart.
Except for the two brothers, the five children, mother, father, and grandfather are all roles worthy of careful consideration by every audience. They are also full of character imagery, but I won't repeat them here. In addition, there are some places in this film that can be said to be easter eggs, that is, Shu Linxi, Abe Hiroshi, and Harada Xiongfang joined. They all participated in the "Non-stop" actors in 2008. Shu Linxi is the mother role of Zhi Yuhe, and she still plays the role of this mother in Zhi Yuhe's "Deeper than the Sea" and "The Thief Family".
As Kee Hiro said to himself, "I don't like plots where the protagonist overcomes his weaknesses, protects his family and saves the world. I prefer to describe the moment when a somewhat dirty world where there are no heroes and only ordinary people lives suddenly becomes beautiful." What is a healing movie? I think the director uses the most simple and ordinary character emotions in the movie to render the softest part of your heart. However, the tone you have been holding in the sorrow of life can be vented all at once, to see the beauty of life again, and to start again.
