The movie is divided into two perspectives: "him" and "her". I first watched the her version (or they? What ever) a few years ago.
I want to revisit a beautiful movie these days and want to say that I don’t want to work hard. I clicked on the him version. I stumbled and finally finished watching it. Maybe it’s because of the narration from a male perspective. The story line is relatively clear or more logical?
The her version is more describing the emotions of the heroine, but it really makes me unable to substitute why she "does" like this. Although you did not have a child, your husband's performance is not so bad that you can't go on with him. Life is going to go on, right?
Although I am a female myself, I chose him, thinking about whether these two protagonists are not middle-class, whether I can have so much time to immerse themselves in the past is not known.
My favorite line was when Yimei was pressed under the crotch of the model worker at the beginning: There's only one heart in this body, have mercy on me.
