Renoir's handwriting is really extraordinary. Mysterious patterns, busy harbours, bundles of jute, lean and sturdy black skin, gods that come from water and return to water, mysterious and terrible snake players, weddings that dance for their lovers, lost a leg due to war Fighting heroes who don’t know what to do everywhere, Indian girls of mixed East and West, innocent and energetic little boys who were killed by cobras, girls who fell into the distress of first love, all things have different metaphors, everyone is contradictory and chaotic. The reality of the world is presented in the movie. I mean to put this huge, unexplainable world into the movie, which in itself is an amazing thing. But having said that, I hope this is just a story of self-pity for a young girl. It’s best to be young and simple. I don’t know the blood, exploitation, persecution, doubt, disagreement, life and death.
