The family lived in a coffee plantation in Africa, and the world was turned upside down due to the arrival of the war. The hostess’s ex-husband’s father plans to leave the plantation to the hostess due to old age and sickness. But the workers all fled. The ex-husband is indifferent to the plantation business. My son was muddled. The ex-husband's new wife and her little child are even more unreliable. The hostess had to support the plantation alone. Risking a risk, a person drove a truck out, and finally found someone to complete this season's harvest. People she met in the past would also stop her from collecting tolls. The wire was cut by a child and the machine could not turn. A dead sheep's head was intimidated by someone in the basket. His son ran away mad and joined the rebels. He took in the wounded leader of the rebel army and was targeted by the government and all the workers fled. The truck was also snatched by the rebels. Pressure and frustration kept hitting her, and she didn't want to give up at all, the only thing she missed was her escaping son. I wanted to go back to the plantation, which was her home. But is this really her home? They are only called white material by black people in Africa. For blacks, you whites are outsiders, this is not your home, it's ours. When she got home, she found that her son was burned to death by the government forces, and her support was suddenly gone, and the previously suppressed emotions suddenly broke out. She began to hate all this, hate this land, hate the people here, hate this plantation. This is when he saw his father-in-law handing the plantation to him, found a catharsis, and beat his father-in-law to death with his club.
The story is a good story, and the shooting is also good, but the performance of the actors is too restrained, not vivid, and not in line with the rhythm. This kind of interspersed narrative made me spend a lot of time figuring out the relationship between the characters. The least favorite thing is that when the hostess is on the outdoor chair, the background music and radio music appear at the same time. Which one do I want to listen to?
Pity.
