It is a great honor to participate in the early screening of "Operation Red Sea" on a cold and windy night.
As a non-military fan, non-war fan, and non-political fan of the "three non-film fans", without knowing the composition of the cast and the basic plot, I was reluctant to blink my eyes, and I couldn’t bear to fall for a second. This more than two-hour movie.
My friend was very curious and asked me what is the biggest feeling after watching a typical female audience like me who has always rejected " main theme movies " and " straight men's movies ".
My feelings can be summed up very simply, that is, I really feel: It's so good-looking. If you want to recommend a movie for the Spring Festival, I would recommend it first (of course, there are too many bloody scenes, so it is not recommended to bring children to watch).
Next, I will try to elaborate on the premise of not being spoiled. For an ordinary audience, it is "good-looking".
Hong Kong director not to be underestimated
Due to historical reasons, there has always been a certain prejudice against the director's location.
I don't know if you are like me. When you see Taiwanese directors, you subconsciously think that they must be good at making delicate family dramas and romance films . When you see Hong Kong directors, you subconsciously think that they must be good at making triad and gangster movies .
In fact, the pros and cons of a movie cannot be forcibly distinguished based on the director's location.
Sometimes, bystanders can be more objective and rational than those who have witnessed it . They don't need to be in it, they have fewer rules and ties, they know the key points, they know where the story is, and they also know what they want to express .
Director Lin Chaoxian did a great job at this point.
Fate to be compared
"Operation Red Sea" was adapted from the real event of " Evacuation of Chinese from Yemen " in March 2015. The filming location was located in North Africa and the filming cycle lasted five months.
The plot of the movie is actually very simple. In one sentence, it tells the story of "eight Jiaolong commando members were ordered to brave the enemy's camp to carry out the evacuation mission."
Because there are also many similarities in evacuation, gun battles and tank battles, many people compare it with "Wolf Warrior 2", and even sparked a round of disputes.
I think it's nothing controversial. What kind of work I like is due to my taste.
I just want to express my opinion briefly, don’t spray if you don’t like it——
① "Red Sea" was filmed earlier than Wolf Warrior 2. There is no plagiarism, and there is no need for plagiarism;
② In the Spring Festival stalls, there is no use of traffic stars (activating Huang Jingyu is a rim ball, right?), the money is spent solidly on shooting and editing, it is a good movie that can stand up straight without talking at the box office;
③ Unlike Wolf Warrior 2’s personal heroism + strong implanted red flag fluttering, "Red Sea" mainly talks about team battles and sincere friendship between comrades-in-arms, depicting a more rational and true patriotic sentiment.
④ In the total of more than two hours of the movie, the climax lasted for almost two hours, with dizzying sea, land and air switching operations. "Red Sea" did not waste a minute to talk about children's personal affairs.
Some defects
I have always felt that when treating a good movie, one must look at it with a fault-finding attitude, because only a good movie can withstand scrutiny and be worthy of scrutiny.
So, let me first talk about a few more places that let me play.
1. Reporter Xia Nan
How should I put it, Xia Nan, played by Haiqing, is a complete and three-dimensional character. But every time she started to argue for her own choice, I would think of the classic quarrel between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in double-sided tape... After all, the image of a good national daughter-in-law is too popular.
She was threatened, the car was bombed, and her assistant Abu went deep into the tiger's den, disobeyed Captain Yang Rui's instructions and arrangements, volunteered to exchange clothes with the hostages, and almost obsessively wanted to kill the terrorist organization to avenge her husband and children... .. In many cases, her emotional expression is too exaggerated, which weakens the audience's resonance with her.
The only scene in this character that touched me was when I learned of Abu's death, guilt, despair, hatred... all kinds of emotions were expressed vividly.
Wow, it's the kind of forbearance of pain, it can be said to be a textbook-like performance.
2. Huang Jingyu's lines...
Compared to some traffic niches in other movies, the Gu Shun portrayed by Huang Jingyu in this movie is already very successful. But it would be better if this handsome guy's line skills were stronger...
I think you will understand what I mean when you watch it officially...
3. Keep tight for 2 hours
I really like riding roller coasters and jumping off the stairs, and I like the thrill of weightlessness. But if you ask me to ride a roller coaster for two hours and a jumper for two hours, I will inevitably feel tired and irritable.
There is almost no so-called "literary drama" in this film. It is not an exaggeration to say that I feel that I have watched "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Black Hawk Down", "Arrow Near the City" and "The Hurt Locker" continuously in more than two hours. The climax of the four films , whether it is the lens language or the detailed description, can truly see the shadow of these classic films.
Highlights
1. Luo Xing and the pirate pursuit battle
The film begins with the intense pursuit of pirates on the sea, and all the focus is on Luo Xing, a sniper.
As a representative of outstanding soldiers, he has outstanding skills, confident, brave and radical. But it was such a close-to-perfect hero who was shot by the pirates who came to besiege after successfully chasing the pirates, hurting his spinal nerves, and became the first person to "fall down" in the film.
At this time, the words "Operation Red Sea" appeared on the screen. The film had just begun, and Luo Xing's appearance and injuries correctly defined "hero"——
The so-called heroes are not protected by the protagonist's halo. They will also be injured, sacrificed, impulsive (Luo Xing insists on the details of continuing to chase the pirates), and retreat (Li knows the details of subconsciously avoiding bullets in battle), but they still chose Never go ahead.
The tone set at the beginning of the film is very important. It directly determines whether all the characters appearing in the following are three-dimensional, real, and whether they can withstand scrutiny.
2. Freely switch between war scenes
After the pirate pursuit, Gu Shun replaced Luo Xing and joined the Dragon Eight. They received a new task and went deep into the city to rescue the last batch of important hostages.
This street battle can be said to be the Chinese version of "Black Hawk Down". There is no need to say more about the cruelty and vividness of the war scenes. What touched me the most was the deep helplessness in the eyes of civilians as "car bombs".
Every time a gunshot sounded, every time a bomb was successfully dismantled, I felt like I was experiencing it with the people on the screen, cursing the cruelty of war, and striving to fight for a ray of life.
If all the war scenes (including tower battles, street battles, sniper battles, square battles, tank battles, etc.) are brought together, the sniper warfare that can most mobilize my emotions in watching movies is the sniper war !
Those friends who have watched "Arrived in the City" should understand that the sniper is more like a protector in the battle. They should make judgments calmly and rationally, take the commanding heights in the scene as much as possible, hide themselves cunningly, kill the opponent's snipers quickly and accurately, and try their best to ensure the smooth progress of all teammates...
In "Red Sea", the cooperation between the unruly sniper Gu Shun and the slightly cowardly observer Li Dao reached a state of tightness after a short period of running-in. After experiencing life and death sniping, Li understands his sniper level and psychological quality have made a great leap.
In addition to the two "big scenes" mentioned above, this movie has too many highlights that can be mentioned separately, such as:
◇ When he was shocked to find himself in ambush, the captain Yang Rui shouted hoarsely and desperately, as well as the courage and strong will to survive in desperation;
◇Xu Hong's bus bomb disposal process is no less exciting than a single bomb disposal movie;
◇Tong Li's hand-to-hand combat with terrorists, although it is a daughter, is not worse than a man at all;
◇When Zhuang Yu was seriously injured and dying, he still supported the connection of communication tools;
◇If any hostage or teammate is injured, Lu Chen will be the first to appear and give emergency treatment;
◇When Shishi (Zhang Tiande) died tragically, Tong Li shivered and put a candy into his mouth with both hands, making me cry like rain sitting in front of the screen...
3. Who is the real hero?
Compared with other ethnic groups, the Chinese have admired the power of groups since ancient times. And from this film, I saw "Chinese heroes" with real "humanity" and perfect team combat consciousness.
True heroes are not just the blind greatness of "Heroes Children" or the individual heroism of "Wolf Warriors 2".
Real heroes should be like "Operation Red Sea", some people die, some are crazy, some are frustrated, and some love candy.
Write at the end
I don’t know anything about military terminology, and purely as a "white" audience, I just want to say that I was really moved, and I want to recommend such a good movie to my classmates and friends from the bottom of my heart.
New Year’s Day has always been a festive day. I don’t understand why the director had to choose such a heavy and bloody movie on this day. Under the siege of strong opponents such as Bear Haunt, Chinatown 2, Monster Hunt 2, I am really worried that this movie will become a cannon fodder for the Spring Festival...
I heard that some bloody shots will be cut when it is finally released. I personally think it is a pity. After all, real wars are cruel for a long time, and any attempt to whitewash peace will appear to be insincere.
After watching this film, I deeply feel that war is not as described in other movies. Holding the five-star red flag, shouting slogans, and relying on the protagonist's halo, you can play handsome and repel the enemy. In many cases, did this battle look good? The result is winning or losing? These are not important.
The important thing is that no matter what kind of danger you are in, whether you still have a kind of courageous pride and conviction in your heart.
As Xia Nan said:
"There are always things that are more important than life."
Again, I recommend everyone to watch this film.
