The film is adapted from Yang Jinyuan's novel "The Lawsuit". The background of the story takes place between 1948 and 1956. All soldiers of a company were killed but no one knew. The whole film showed the heroic and touching deeds of these soldiers through the process of searching and tracing. . From the beginning, the film is a battlefield full of ruins, without any cumbersome foreplay and explanations. It puts the audience in smoke, guns and flesh and blood, straight to the point, straight to the heart, and the war scene is the most realistic. Director Feng said that this film is not intended to explore the metaphysical theme of the value and meaning of sacrifice. In his mind, this is a "story of heroes being wronged" that has not been understood during the long years. Mentioning the original intention of shooting this film, Director Feng said that it may be because every man has a strong heroism complex in his heart, but this is not cheap heroism, but a heartfelt touch.
