Grace is gone

The film is short, the story is very simple, the rhythm is slow but grasped in place, there is no overwhelming emotions, no extreme expressions, a little bit, it makes us sad but also accept the reality, cry and smile and walk on. In fact, frankly speaking, because my experience is similar to that of the children in the film, and I was about the same age as Heidi at the time, I felt more sentimental when I watched it.
Seeing his daughter sitting helplessly on the side of the road at night, the distress burst out naturally from my heart. When I heard the eulogy, my tears couldn't stop. Simple is more touching.

The helpless parting, the metaphor of the anti-war sentiment becomes deeper and heavier!

On the night when 12-year-old Heidi picked up the first cigarette because of insomnia, the father and daughter had a long-lost emotional exchange. This is the most touching moment of the film. Stanley, a middle-aged man played by John Cusack, takes his two daughters, who don't know the truth, to their long-awaited playground after learning of his wife's death on the front lines. This healing film doesn't have a moment of sensationalism to elicit tears of sympathy, and the details of life are true and gentle
