The whole film is carried out in flashback style, from twenty years later to twenty years ago, the secrets are revealed step by step. Unfold the film with the beautiful campus love, and at the same time lay the groundwork, follow the magical two-dimensional time and space to reveal the secret. The storyline is relatively smooth, and there is no far-fetched part. With the word “secret” as the main part of the film, the two external conflicts are set, and the ending part is handled properly, leaving the audience with unlimited imagination and making the whole film endless aftertaste. The biggest secret of the film is not the mysterious piano music, nor the mysterious disappearance of "Xiao Yu", but the debut of a newcomer advertised as a literary film with a suspenseful plot at the same time.
Looking closely at the film, the first half of the film feels like an ordinary and tacky campus romance, with some humorous details that make people smile, but there are no highlights that can impress people; the middle part suddenly feels a little bit strange. Suspense film; but it wasn't until the last few tens of minutes that I could really feel the impact of "love through time and space". The plot after the reunion of the hero and heroine leaves the audience with a huge imagination.
"Secrets That Cannot Be Said" is a sincere work of Jay Chou. The opening director, original story, and starring role are all Jay Chou, and the film music at the end: "Girls Don't Cry for Me", "Sunny Doll", "Secrets That Cannot Be Telled" are all Jay Chou. Is there anything he can't do? Appreciating this movie seriously, I think I really want to admire Jay Chou and get to know it again.
