Sound effects and photography are definitely the highlights of this film.
The sound effects are really catching, and the horror and pain suffered by the hero in the atmosphere of World War I are particularly profound with the sound effects. There is no direct description of the war, but the background color of the whole film is depressive black, that is, the inner color of the male protagonist; and every time the French teacher appears, the color tone is particularly bright, that is the male protagonist's longing for sex!
