The plot has given enough hints:
1. After Kate flowed into the neighbor’s room downstairs and saw the photos from the camera, he dragged Justin to confront the downstairs, and the two had a quarrel. Kate said: I saw what I saw . Justin didn't believe it. He said you thought you saw it, and said: Your family has a history of mental illness. This is the only place in the whole article where Kate is mentally ill. This plot point understands the whole plot, and there are many other places to confirm it.
2. Kate had an affair with her mother. The reason seems to have not been clearly explained. When all Kate's mothers appeared, all we saw were an amiable old woman who could not understand Kate's aversion to her mother at all. This is actually deliberately creating a sharp opposition between character and destiny. If Kate's mother has a perverted character, the family tragedy would not be so strong. According to the plot, it is not difficult to guess that the reason Kate hates her mother is the accidental death of her brother. And how did your brother die? This plot design should correspond to Kate's final illness, abandoning the child and self-destruction.
3. After the child fell ill once, the couple took the baby to the hospital. The doctor advised Kate not to breastfeed anymore. If she had to breastfeed, then she should not eat certain things. Those things? The film does not say clearly. Seeing the back, you can guess that it is a drug that suppresses psychosis. See the next one.
4. After Justin received Kate's desperate email "i'm sorry" at the company, he hurried home, the camera flashed, and a few white pills on the table. This is the only place where the pill appears in the whole article, and there is no obvious reminder. Combining the above points, it is already very clear. The fact is that Kate has been taking pills to suppress psychosis. After the doctor asked not to eat certain things, she stopped taking the drugs for the health of the child. This led to a serious deterioration in her delusion of being persecuted. She kept "discovering" the scene of the couple downstairs trying to persecute her. In the end, her mental breakdown finally broke down. At the time of the final breakdown, she tried to save herself, like eating The medicine rescued itself, but unfortunately it did not succeed, and finally led to a self-destructive tragedy.
5. The last paragraph traces how the Theresa couple designed to frame Kate and take away the baby. This is Kate's illusion. In this fantasy, she drank milk and fell to the ground poisoned. When Justin left home a while ago, we saw Kate drank milk and it was okay. All poisoning falling to the ground is an afterthought. The woman pushing the stroller to the river only showed her back. In the last retrospect, it was revealed that it was Theresa. This is also Kate’s fantasy. From the hair of the woman’s back, we can see that Theresa’s hair is always neat and tidy. Kate's hair is so messy.
6. Mentioned the quarrel between Kate and Justin in point 1. Kate accused Justin of flirting with Theresa, and Justin was speechless. This seems to disprove Kate's delusion. It is impossible for normal people to flirt with other women in front of their wives.
7. There are two other clips that I am deeply impressed, but I don't understand what is going on. One is that after Theresa had an abortion, the two couples guilty, Theresa said you don't desarve the baby. This ostensibly laid the groundwork for them to take away the baby (or Kate in fantasy) at the end. The second is that Justin found that the cat was missing when he was sorting out the relics. It seems that, on the surface, it might be that Theresa pushed the stroller and threw the cat into the river. Cats are an important cause of Theresa's miscarriage. These two episodes can correspond to the previous and subsequent plots, but I always feel a little strange. I even suspect that the whole process from pregnancy to meeting Theresa was Kate's hallucinations. I just didn't bother to read it again to find clues.
