Alles sind vorbei, aber noch nicht zum Ende

Until the happy ending song sounded in Russian, I couldn't forget this sentence: Was sollten wir leben? I want to work hard to find the answer, maybe I can find some clues, in the movie, or maybe in the future life. Just like the movie is over, a movie about the absolute heroine is over, and we don’t know her name. Her name is not important, what matters is what she wants to say after we read her story.

Whether it was before or after I went to Berlin, this was my first film. The first film did not look at Hilter with the eyes of a victim.

In fact, a war movie is very sad no matter what, just like a gloomy Mongolian long tune, you can sit quietly and listen to it, and you shouldn't say a word. But what is strange, and not surprising, is that a war film, I did not expect "Nanjing" to be "Roman Holiday".

The Berlin women did not ask for sympathy from anyone. What is fascism? This has influenced the doctrine of the entire world in the middle of the twentieth century. What are unarmed women? It may be what she said, from the old saying, is a bundle of match sticks, meaning alliance. In fact, it is meaningless, everyone, all women, are absolute victims. They inexplicably took responsibility for politics that they should not have, or that they might have. But their attitude surprised me.

Especially when they said, "If the Russians treat us like the Germans do to them, then there will be no Germans in a few days." Although I am well versed in the characteristics of Germans who always whip themselves, once they are truly put into a specific situation, this is also unimaginable. The complexity of history prevents us from directly comparing things, but as human beings, how we live can be compared.

An hour before the movie, I kept asking myself: If it were you, how would I live. I couldn't even find any reason to live, but every woman in the movie did it. But at the end of the movie, it seems to have found the answer. The husband who missed his heart finally came back, but he left again. But we don’t know. Deep down in our hearts, we might still think of each other, irgendwann. The meaning of survival is not the same as the meaning of possession.

Why did you think of "Roman Holiday", because from beginning to end, the heroine is a deeply affectionate person. It should be such a person. Although she is clever enough to understand, war cannot tolerate love:

Die Krieg verendet das Wort. Die Liebe ist nicht mehr das, was sie war.
War has changed the language, and the term love is no longer in its original meaning.

But then she understood that love has nothing to do with war. The lucky woman met a man playing the piano. Love is love, and to like is to like. This kind of liking grew up when the war was there, but when peace came, it strangled it. So, love has nothing to do with war, and has nothing to do with possession. Love may be repeated by the heroine:

Alles sind vorbei, aber noch nicht zum Ende.
Everything is over, but not over.

2009.12.12 The suffering brought by the war and the destruction of human nature. In this dehumanized world, the true love between the colonel and the heroine is very precious and touching.
