Wrapped in a padded jacket in the middle of the night, I watched this movie without Pause's cold shivering.
The picture finally faded. I couldn't calm down for a long time. A great movie, a very real movie.
There are too many movies about World War II. With such a perspective, I only know this one, from the perspective of a woman waiting for her husband's return in Berlin on the eve of Germany's defeat, telling a story that hits humanity in a very restrained, slow, but explosive way.
As a German fan for many years, I have always admired the Germans' reflections on war, not only about mistakes, but also about scars. Their attitude of daring to face the real history and objective and rigorous speculation are also reflected in this movie with small characters as the theme.
From the beginning to the end of the film, I have never sympathized with or contempt for the heroine, but only recognized and respected.
When you want to survive, when physical abuse becomes a necessity for survival, how would you choose? I can't give an answer, because as lucky as I am, I have never experienced a war. The women in the film, those who can't control the war but can only be controlled by the war, have no resistance. The women of the defeated country, in the day and night when the dignity of the country is lost and the family is broken, they choose to live strong. Yes, stay strong. In order to survive, this is the power of human nature. It is not about nobility, but just as tenacious as a rush of grass, which is the most essential character required to live.
I hate that some people use words like "ugly" or "living" to describe them. When they resist hopeless and hopeless for help, some choose to die, and some choose to die at the expense of their own flesh, in exchange for food, limited peace, and hope of living. Did these women harm anyone? Did the country perish because of them? no. Tank-made ruins, blood-spattered soldiers, burned German flags... Too many tragedies caused by wars are not one of the reasons, but only one of the results of frailty, helplessness and even despair.
The film does not ask why these women are the retribution of the unjust war, because the so-called ethics in a peaceful world cannot be applied to the war, not to mention the atrocities committed by the German army when it invaded the Soviet Union that year, enough to make Soviet soldiers I finally stepped into Germany with great hatred and revenge.
So after the heroine complained to the major of the soldiers' atrocities, she got a response of "That's just a few minutes," and she didn't say anything. She understands that they can only serve fish. This kind of "understanding" is not a surrender of dignity, but a strong choice for life.
Just like the heroine said, no one can hurt her anymore, and no matter what kind of external damage, she can't knock down her inner strength.
And when they hadn’t seen each other for a long time, they began to greet each other with the phrase "wie oft?"; when they could talk about their sexual experiences with Soviet officers in an ordinary way at tea time; I think they were already in their own way. A certain kind of peace has been achieved in his heart. This is not the peace that is incomprehensible to the world without risk, but the peace that is cast by throwing the body and soul into the bottomless cruel reality, which is an indestructible peace.
As for the heroine and heroines . I don’t feel that love that ends without a rush, I don’t think it’s superfluous, but it makes me sigh the authenticity of the work. One is talented and beautiful, and the other is strong and gentle; when such a gifted and beautiful woman meets in the torrent of destiny, why not love each other? What's more, they are also two people who were deeply injured in the unjust war. Love has nothing to do with fascism or Soviets. It is just a real life, which can never be written by love.
She recalled the time she spent with her husband. In the wonderful time, riding on the bicycle given by the male lead, it is such a full and complicated emotion; and she finally saw him, but only said gently, thank you. Only those hands that are tightly held together, what is it like? With her hard work, I can’t wait to squeeze the last drop of love. She finally asked: wie können wir leben? The major did not answer. Her determined eyes were full of boundlessness. The
war produced this documentary novel, eine Frau in Berlin. Regrettably The pen that writes history can never be held in their hands. I am even more grateful to the original author for having such a heart and courage.
