poet Hai Zi's pen in May of The village has the fragrance of wheat. In the director’s shots, there is the father Ai Ming who struggles with the land with poplar trees, the child Ali who needs to put an egg in a bag for 40 days in order to get a watch, and The dream is far away, but the reality is cruel, and Muzafa, who mobilizes his parents in order to make a movie. This is the story in the movie "May Blue Sky".
This is also the last part of NB Ceylon's homesickness trilogy I watched. In fact, it is more like a documentary about the filming of the director himself. In the film, the director repeatedly persuaded his parents to participate in the filming of his own film, and he did not give up after NG, and the shot was actually a fragment from the film "Small Town".
I remember a film critic said that some stubborn persistence can always be seen in Ceylon movies. It is the same in "May Blue Sky":
"May makes me uneasy," said father Aiming. In order to obtain that piece of land that had been guarded for 50 years, and to prevent the government from taking it away, he studied the law, and he had to use the law to defend his rights and interests. For this promise, he rejected Muzaffa's suggestion of getting a boiled egg in his pocket and keeping the egg in one place. This is the persistence of a nine-year-old child. Aunt said that she knew Ali couldn't do it, she just let him understand the word responsibility. Ali could have done it, but something unexpected happened. On the way from school, someone asked him to carry a basket full of tomatoes. The basket was too full and a tomato rolled down. In order to pick up this tomato, Ali accidentally broke the egg in his pocket. He was very unhappy, kicked over a basket of tomatoes, and stole eggs from other people's chicken coops. In order to get a lighter with LAMBADA music, Ali gave up the watch. He told his aunt that he hoped his father would buy him a music lighter. Fortunately, someone gave him this music lighter, and his watch seems to be just around the corner. This is the persistence of a child.
Safet works in a factory, but he wants to go to university, he wants to go to a big city. He resigned and wanted to go to Istanbul with Muzafa to see the Bosphorus Bridge. But Muzaffa told him after the filming that he could not take him to Istanbul. Because the distance is not as good as you think, the city rent is also expensive, and even "you can only see a small sky from the toilet window." But Safet still begged again and again. In the movie "Distant", the two protagonists are the same, and the cousin finally came to the big city. This can also be seen as a kind of persistence of this middle-aged man.
And Muzafa played the director himself. In fact, I have always been amazed by Ceylon movies. The actors he uses always seem to be these few, at least in the three movies I have watched, they are all these actors. He even mobilized his parents to come to the show. What's more surprising is that these people who have never performed experience perform very well. Perhaps they are not acting themselves, but being themselves. However, the flower of success, we always have a source of struggle that we can't see. In "May Blue Sky" we can feel the difficulty of making a movie. NG again and again, 50 rolls of film are used for a movie. A roll of NG costs 50 million old lire. It's Safet's two months' salary in the factory. But the director completed his work. There are not many Ceylon works, but every one has won awards, and it is also a legend.
This movie is the same as the other two, every frame is beautiful. The cloud floats on the head, the tortoise crawls and crawls on the ground, every place is full of vitality, this is the hometown that the director can never forget. The most valuable thing is that there are records of the director's parents in the film, the vicissitudes of white hair dancing in the wind, and the father who is fast-moving on a bicycle, frozen in the picture. It suddenly occurred to me that now so many people play DV and photography, have you ever thought of recording a set of images for your parents?
