The film includes: science fiction through the subject matter, family affection between the protagonist's family, family affection between mother and grandpa, the love between the protagonist and his girlfriend, the love between grandpa and secretary (this is really redundant), the experience of the father after the journey, the relationship between the protagonist and grandpa . In fact, there is nothing wrong with these. The downside is that it is a bit reluctant to include all of these in more than 90 minutes of content, and part of the plot seems redundant and makes the main line seem a bit virtual.
I personally think that the unnecessary role of grandpa can be eliminated (so of course there is no ambiguity between grandpa and secretary), and the narrative of the death of the mother and the abortion of the boyfriend's girlfriend can be appropriately reduced instead of making it too costly. After all, one of the three aspects of family love and science fiction must be the main line, otherwise it will feel a little nondescript. The balanced combination of the three is difficult to work within 90 minutes.
The above is based on my suggestion as a science fiction film. After removing the plot I mentioned, there is no doubt that some details need to be adjusted. For example, without the grandfather role, adjustments must be made on how to guide the protagonist on the "road of no return", of course, provided that it does not consume too much time. .
PS: The protagonist is really crooked when he grows up.
