Life is beautiful

Last month, Feng Junhao went to the cinema to watch a new movie. My friend asked how this film was, and I said it was okay, it was pretty good. In fact, I was quite disappointed. Even though it was "Mother" from "Memories of Murder" ten years ago, Bong Joon-ho kept me silent for a long time. "Snow Country Train" is really good, but for some reason, I don't have a special feeling. It may be a film that someone who never cares about politics doesn't know how to appreciate.

I think of those Korean movies again, whether it is for love, family, suspense, there are always so few movies that make people feel uncomfortable. The one I have read the most times is Li Cangdong's "Mints" in 1999.

"Mints" is actually an uncomplicated story. It tells a man's life, from happiness to despair, and finally, like Haizi, ended his life on the train tracks. "Living" is also about people's stories, but Koreans are really full of sentiments in doing things. The naked tragedy of "Living" makes people feel heavy. "Mints" uses a flashback narrative. At the beginning, the actor Kim Yong-ho participates in classmates. After the party, he walked onto the train track and yelled at the approaching train. The train took his life, and he still had to reach his destination. In the next seven clips, the train started to go backwards, just like the clock in "Rejuvenation", I saw Jin Yonghao's slow life.

Although it is not the first time I have seen a random narrative film, unlike "Pulp Fiction", this kind of narrative brings not only surprises but profoundness. In the film, Jin Yonghao and Li Cangdong made it extremely split, gentle and rude, strong and withdrawn, sensitive and simple. What we see is not the future of the man written by the screenwriter or director, but the pre-existing life of the man beside us. Oh, sometimes it suddenly dawns on me that it turns out that I became what I am today. It's all my own problem. What changed us, the environment, people, or society. In the first paragraph, Jin Yonghao spent all his savings and bought a pistol. He wanted to commit suicide, but he couldn't get it. He looked at the pistol in a leaky room with a foolish smile. It is not worth it to die like this. He thinks that he must choose one of the people who ruined his life, kill him, and go to Huangquan together. . But who is that person? Is it the employee of the securities company that turned his hard-earned money into waste paper? Or is it the usury who seeks huge profits, or the partners who deceived all of their credibility and investment? There are also divorced wives who have put hats on themselves. God, there are so many people who have ruined their lives. Who should kill?

In the end, he only killed himself. From 1979 to 1999. For twenty years, you can see Kim Yong-ho who served in the military when he was young, Kim Yong-ho who was panicked in combat, Kim Yong-ho who had just joined the police force, Kim Yong-ho who resigned and smirked in business, and Kim Yong-ho who was angry when he caught the rape in bed, and the staff. Kim Yong-ho was flirty when he was derailed. Maybe it's as simple as that, but also like Forrest Gump. The history of South Korea has been ups and downs with the fate of Kim Yong-ho. In the "Spring of Seoul" in 1979, Kim Yong-ho took an outing with his classmates from night school. In 1980, Kim Yong-ho was drafted into the army during the Gwangju incident. In the 1987 constitutional reform parade in Seoul, dissidents were tortured and hunted. While slapped in the face of the suspect, he gently asked: "Is it hard to feel?", in the 1988 Seoul Olympics, Quan Doo-hwan stepped down, and Kim Yong-ho began to resign to do business, 1997 In the Asian financial turmoil, Jin Yonghao finally went bankrupt and fell to the streets. In 1999, at the 20th anniversary party of night school classmates, Jin Yonghao silently walked onto the train tracks and yelled at the surroundings. The moment the train hit him, his line to the camera was "I want to go back"

关于片名,薄荷糖是片子里的一个道具,金永浩在服兵役时,初恋女友在糖厂上班,在每封信中都会寄一颗给他,金永浩为了收藏这些糖,挨了教官不少揍. Later, because of the death of a little girl in the Gwangju incident, he rejected his first love girlfriend, which may also be a turning point for Kim Yong-ho's original happy life. Jin Yonghao suicide before finally saw this first girlfriend, his girlfriend has married and had children, but

was paralyzed in bed due to illness, and soon died. Jin Yonghao handed the mint to his first love girlfriend who was speechless and couldn't open his eyes, and gently recounted the meaning of mint to him back then. But then it was completely meaningless. When Jin Yonghao had an affair with a small employee of his company, the employee wanted to feed him mints, but Jin Yonghao refused with a very disgusting expression, but in the end he ate it, and I don't know if he remembered anything. Mint is always cool, and it can soothe a grumpy heart for a while.

At the end of the film, in the spring of 1979, people on the outing were singing on the grass. Kim Yong-ho got the first mint of his first love, and then people sat down in a circle and started singing.

A song of 77 years, the name of the song is 나어떡해 (what should I do):

"

What should I

do, you can't leave me alone , it really can't, please don't leave me, what can't you tell me about my difficulties? Did you

ever be so kind and gentle, how could you be so ruthless and

unbelievable, you will leave me and I don’t believe it, you say goodbye to me

"

Jin Yonghao walked to the side and lay down, crying again in the mountains .

Although you still left, but I still have to continue to live.

It's like the beginning of the third paragraph in the film:

"In the summer of 1994, life is beautiful"

Peppermint Candy quotes

  • Yongho: Do you think life's beautiful?

  • Yongho: I don't want to die alone. I need one bastard to come with me. Just one bastard among all that ruined my life. But then... Who should I kill? It gives me hard time, you know. To pick just one is hard thing to do. The fucking stock broker who made me go clean broke? The vampire like loan shark that charged the ridiculous interest? Or... how about the business partner who run away with my money? Or should I take my ex-wife and my kid to die with me? There're so many fuckers in my life that it's hard to pick just one.
