There is not a person with complete integrity in the movie. From the protagonist who gave up the ethics of the media for the sake of the upper ranks, that is, the team members of the entire studio, to the irresponsible president who is full of national economy and people’s livelihood but has not shown up in the end, [horror live] painted a pure black Korean Ukiyo-e, The media politicians were condemned to a bloody head. The film is full of negative energy, but the anchor Yin Yinghua's last human repentance has been raised to a level. It's a pity that this time he was trapped in quicksand can only plunge him into deeper despair. Although this sparkling fire brought a trace of warmth in the long and cold night, it was even more sad when it was extinguished.
In addition to the entire film's criticism of politics and the media, some key elements in the film also have deeper meanings than the surface.
[Live broadcast headset] The
anchor Yin Yinghua didn't call the police the first time he learned of the terrorist attack. Instead, he turned the terrorist attack into a live broadcast without professional ethics in order to fight against the media ethics. When he put on the live broadcast headset and started the live broadcast, he had already abandoned his conscience for fame and fortune. Similarly, the Minister of Public Security, who came to the live broadcast room afterwards, put aside the emergency and the safety of the people, and ranted in front of the camera, showing his correct political determination. For Yin Yinghua and the Minister of Public Security, facing the camera is not to show a rigorous and fair attitude. Instead, they use the media as a tool to amplify their desires. As will be revealed later, this headset is a time bomb, a punishment for unscrupulous people who manipulate public events to gain attention. The Minister of Public Security was headshot on the spot, and the anchor was in pain because of the headset. In the end, Yin Yinghua got rid of the desire to control himself and broadcast the headset at the end of the live broadcast, and his conscience was gradually awakened at the end.
[Bridge and building blown up]
A bridge is a channel connecting two places and a hub connecting people's hearts. Watching the entire movie, the terrorist Park Rugyu is hateful, but there are also pitiful things. The lower working class he represented led a poor and difficult life because of social prejudice and discrimination, and his father and partners were also worthy of their lives because of a small amount of wages. The bridge between them and the outside world has been destroyed, and this time, he will also destroy other bridges. At the beginning of the film, when Park Rugyu threatened to blow up the bridge, the impatient Yin Yinghua urged him to explode quickly. This kind of irrelevant attitude is enough to show how indifferent the relationship between people in Korean society is and how precarious the "bridge" is. When faced with the survivors on the bombed bridge, even if Yin Yinghua had found it conscientiously, his superiors were not tempted by it and asked him to irritate Pu Lugui again and again to continue bombing the bridge, thereby sacrificing the hostages to attract attention. And just like the destroyed bridge, the indifferent and fragile relationship between people in the film is even more vulnerable than the destroyed bridge.
Similarly, the broadcasting building that was finally blown up by Yin Yinghua's button is also the collapse of a media image and a government image in the hearts of ordinary people. Yin Yinghua originally wanted to be promoted step by step in this building to realize his dream of fame and fortune, but in just ninety minutes of the live broadcast, he recognized the media's face and the government's paleness and weakness. I could have taken advantage of this live broadcast, but in the end he became a pawn and a scapegoat for the black hand behind the scenes. This deep sense of despair made him finally press the button in his hand, destroying himself and the dream in his heart.
[Live Room]
Forgive me for my zero knowledge in radio and television, but before watching this movie, I really feel that all live broadcasts are first-hand, objective and fair reports from the scene without any treatment. But this movie really disappointed me in the press. Even live broadcasts can be manipulated with money and transactions, and the news in our daily lives is somewhat true or false. We saw the host broadcast the news seriously, but how can we know the pair of black hands behind the camera who directs the media mouthpiece? The terrorists are of course unforgivable, but how many people know about the despicable methods used by the radio executives behind the glass of the live broadcast room for ratings. The "opacity" hidden in this live broadcast room is a powerful counterattack to the "transparency" that it used to preach. The media is just a mouthpiece, this is really true.
[Radio and TV]
The first scene of the movie is a close-up of a sound frequency, which is the first conversation between Yin Yinghua and Park Rugyu. Yin Yinghua dressed up in a leisurely manner, chatting about major topics related to the national economy and the people's livelihood in a seemingly indifferent attitude. He had no intention of listening to complaints from the audience, and was dissatisfied with his current situation in all kinds of ways. For him, even if Park Rugui said something sad, it was just a meaningless sound frequency signal without any personal feelings. Realizing the seriousness of the incident, Yin Yinghua's performance after entering the live TV broadcast was like a change of person, trying his best to cater to Park Rugyu, hoping to get more hot spots and clues from him. Now Pu Rugui is no longer a stranger who has nothing to do with him, but an opportunity to help his career soar. Through the contact with each other during the live broadcast, the anchor gradually realized that he and Park Rugui were two scapegoats for the chaotic farce that was out of date, and throwing away these two small flags, the huge political machine would still function normally. His affair with Park Rugyu gradually developed a connection that surpassed the interviewer and the interviewee. This feeling of sympathy caused him to finally develop the feelings that a "human" should have when he met the teenager face to face. He stretched out his hand to hold the young boy who was about to fall, trying to save the boy who lost his father who was wrapped in despair. At that moment, I believe that all his persuasion and enlightenment to the juvenile were sincere. Out of the camera, Yin Longhua finally recovered his true heart, and wanted to help the young man at last. But how could his hands save a guilty, desperate heart. The boy was shot to death and fell, leaving Yin Yinghua with the switch to activate the bomb. Despair is contagious. In just ninety minutes, the despair of a teenager passed to another person, the whole society where they belonged.
In general, Yin Yinghua in front of the microphone and the camera has nothing to do with the interviewees and events, and only wants to bring fame and fortune to himself. However, as he interacts with the interviewees step by step and deepens his understanding, he finally meets with Park Rugyu face to face. At the time, I moved my sincere heart. But helpless, everything is too late. If he listened to Park Rugui with a sincere heart at the beginning of the radio show, tragedy would not happen.
[Explosives]
This may be too far-fetched, but I always think that using bombs as a terrorist attack in this film also has its own special meaning. In this age of eyeballs, news that is not so popular should not be reported, not only for the media, but also for ordinary audiences. Every day is so busy, watching a bit of exciting but irrelevant news is a serious matter. The indifferent interpersonal relationship setting of the film also adds to this atmosphere. It is true that an explosion is painful to everyone, but if you are in a dangerous situation, there will be a few people who will truly feel that kind of despair. It just sighed like a spectator, and then returned to his daily life. I have to admit that the original intention of this live program is to satisfy people’s curiosity and demand for “exclusiveness”, and the rising ratings during the program have also made the ambitions and desires of the head of the radio station out of control. The real "hot spot" of dynamite is a successful live broadcast case based on the sacrifice of innocent people. This cannot be blamed on anyone, because it is human nature, but think about the headlines that Yin Yinghua and Park Rugui exchanged for their lives. After the newspaper the next day, it was thrown aside after being read by others, and it became irrelevant to talk about it, and I always felt very emotional in my heart.
Who made us live in such an era.
