I found that many people did not understand this movie. Let me say a few words.

The movie "Hostages" sets up two lines of light and dark. Many people only see the open lines, but not the dark lines.

Ming Xian said that Nick (male protagonist) went to a restaurant to meet Pat (male protagonist's brother) just after he got out of prison, and he got involved in a robbery, and finally killed Derek (robber leader) and put the hard drive Handed over to the police (the end of the film tells us that he handed it over to his brother), a perfect ending.

Many people only saw this bright line and felt that there were too many loopholes and all kinds of unreasonable, and they thought it was a bad film. In fact, there is a dark line that reveals to us the truth of the entire incident.

At the end of the film, Pat (the male protagonist's brother) came to visit Nick (the male protagonist), and told him that the hard drive played a big role, and cleared his suspicion. The key to discovering the dark line lies here. If what Pat said is true, it means that there are information on the underworld and bad police on the hard drive. But Pat also said that he didn't know who had taken Nick's wife. This is obviously contradictory. It can be seen that Pat lied. Why is he lying? Because he is also a bad policeman.

Next, let us reorganize the plot and see what kind of story this movie tells.

First of all, Yuri (the shopkeeper) is the boss of the underworld, and most of the shop assistants are also members of the underworld, including Charlie (the counter supervisor), Allen (the waiter), Bonnie (the waitress) and the chefs. What needs special explanation is that when I say Bonnie is also a member of the underworld, it is actually just a reasonable guess and not very sure. However, whether she is or not, it has little influence on the following plot analysis.

Then, Yuri and the bad cops (Barnes is only one of the bad cops, which is very important) have a relationship of cooperation and mutual use. Perhaps in the process of getting along, Yuri found that the bad police had inserted an informant in his shop assistant. He wanted to know which police had inserted which informant. Just let Charlie send out a false message that the FBI wants to check us. At the end of the film, we can see that it was Charlie who said to Allen (the waiter, who was also the informant placed by Barnes) at the time. The original words were "The FBI wants to check us, you tell them it is on the 12th."

It should be noted that Charlie (the counter supervisor) has been with Yuri for 30 years (according to the dialogue in the film) and is the person Yuri trusts most, so let him be the messenger. I think the biggest failure of the film is the sentence that was passed. If you remove the "you tell them", it will be perfect. Because "you tell them" is added, it means that all the clerk knows about the incident and the date. And if you remove the "you tell them", we can guess that Charlie didn't say this to everyone, or that the date is different for everyone, so that we can determine who the informant is. And adding "you tell them", there is a flaw in the rationality. We can only follow "Yuri believes that the informant will not pass this to all the shop assistants, and Allen (that is, the informant) did not pass this sentence to other shop assistants, only told Barnes." Perform the following plot analysis.

After Barnes learned of the news, worried that his crime would be exposed, he tricked Derek (the leader of the robber) into saying that the hard drive had his name, and asked Derek to create a robbery and get the hard drive. And Derek was not as simple as Barnes imagined. He found two helpers and carried out a robbery in advance, hoping to bargain with Barnes after getting the hard drive.

Later, as you can see, Will (the policeman with defective eyes) entered the store and found that the condition of the store was not in accordance with the original plan. He went to the toilet and saw Nick (the male protagonist) and called Barnes to say that the plan had changed. And he was discovered by Nick. After taking Nick's phone, he was shot and killed by Derek. At the same time, Barnes found out Nick's identity based on the information provided by Will. Foreshadowing that Nick is the leader of the robbers later.

After shooting Will, Derek put his police uniform under his clothes, staying behind, which is plan B, and pretending to be a policeman.

Then Derek asked Charlie to open the safe and get the hard drive, and then clashed and shot Charlie, wounding Allen (informant).

Nick's police call worked, and the police came. Of course Barnes didn't want Yuri to know that he was the policeman who installed the informant and planned the robbery, so he blamed the incident on Nick. Yuri's people took the police one step ahead and went to Nick's house and took his wife away.

Later, Derek asked Nick to come forward to negotiate, and Barnes ordered the shot on the grounds that Nick threatened the police. After defeating Nick, the police rushed into the store to rescue the hostages, and Derek took advantage of the chaos and ran away.

Bonnie testified for Nick that he was only one of the hostages. Therefore, Nick’s ambulance did not arrange a police officer to pave the way for Nick to jump from the ambulance afterwards. At the same time, Yuri and Barnes took over. Yuri killed Barnes, got Barnes' cell phone, and talked with Derek. Through dialogue, Yuri confirmed that Barnes was the policeman who inserted the informant.

In the ambulance, Nick remembered that the man he almost hit during the day was the robber leader Derek. He jumped from the car and went to the place where he almost hit Derek during the day to look for clues, but he was catching up with Derek to return.

Derek went home and found that Yuri and his men were already there waiting for him. This place is another failure, because according to Yuri's nervousness and the behavior of having to get the hard drive later, Derek's hard drive is obviously real. Yuri really doesn't need to use real hard drives for testing. I can only understand that Yuri’s original plan was that after the hard drive was robbed, he would immediately have his subordinates follow up with the robbers to find out which policeman had inserted the informant, then kill him and retake the hard drive. Everything is under control, even if you use a real hard drive, there is no danger.

Yuri gave Derek a sum of money, and Derek reluctantly agreed to the deal. Opening the trunk of the car, Derek found that the hard drive was missing. He could only fight, and he miraculously killed Yuri and his men. Finally, Nick appeared, killed Derek, and handed the hard drive to Pat.

The camera is transferred to the hospital. A member of the underworld (the man who tells the story of the clock to Nick’s wife, it is guessed that he succeeded Yuri and became the new underworld boss) explained the true purpose of the operation to Ai Te and killed Ai. special.

The camera turned to Nick's house again, Pat went to the door, told him that the hard drive had played a big role, and cleared his suspicion. In the end, the whole play ends with Pat's subtle expression.

There are some clues in the play, such as:

1. When Nick and Pat met in the store, it can be seen from their dialogue that they both knew Yuri's background.

2. Nick said that this was the last time when he stole a car. It can be seen that he was in jail because of the crime of stealing a car. At the same time thinking of the metaphor in the watch story, I even have a kind of "The man who tells the watch story is the real behind-the-scenes man. Everything is designed by him and Pat. He replaced Yuri and Pat replaced Barn." "S" thought. But because of insufficient evidence to support this speculation, I won't say anything.
