Although the director has Turkish ancestry, the second generation of immigrants see Turkey in the eyes of poverty and simplicity. There seems to be no more left behind. Orhan’s "sorrow" is completely missing. It is a pity, hey, but a generation. These Xu disappointments are because I still hope to get an answer through this movie, or at least suggestions. However, the storyteller views this issue from a completely different perspective from mine, and there is still an insurmountable gap in between. But I shouldn't bring the director's background too deep, so let's talk about the movie itself.
The family drove a small bus to their hometown in Turkey from Germany. The garden full of memories is still the same as it was many years ago, as if it was only a moment of departure. But when the grandmother opened the door and walked into the "home", she found that the so-called home was only the wall of the front entrance, and the structure behind it had already been demolished. This scene is quite interesting. For this family who has been away from Turkey for 45 years, perhaps the so-called homesickness is only invisible and intangible memories. Those practical, living habits, and acting styles have long been moralized. There is no good or bad right or wrong, just a kind of helplessness and comicality with nothing to say. When a family sits on this pile of "ruins" and looks at the distance, this scene is really like a German family traveling in Turkey. But what’s special is that when the last family was going back to Germany, the youngest son of the second generation decided to stay in Turkey. The others did not stop or even showed a surprised expression. Instead, they smiled and looked at him, then closed the car door and continued walking. Last way back to Germany. The scene without a line of dialogue left a deep impression on me. So in fact, it would be unfair to say that the director did not give me advice at all. Regarding the question of whether to answer or not, everyone has the answer in their minds, but the time has not come. "Life has been good and bad, but I have a very happy life." After many years, thinking of the past, it would be nice to have such a sigh.
I didn't watch the movie carefully, and there may be many details missing, but fortunately this is a movie worth watching again. In addition, Qian Kemeng has a lot of laughs and is worth recommending.
