A person’s emotions, memories, and stories are the most exciting, heart-warming, and sincere in one’s own world and time. It’s not just a story that changes and advances in the times makes future generations have no time to walk into the predecessors’ stories. Entering is not as exciting as the own story that I see.
Thinking about it this way, people with sensitive minds will feel sad and desperate. Parents and lovers have passed away, and children have no way of sustenance. How powerful is the spiritual world of oneself so that one can trust his soul to oneself? At this time, I will inevitably think of religion again. I always think that religion is actually the last straw that fragile people can grasp, and feelings of helplessness are a catalyst for anxiety and depression. Only when the soul of oneself is handed over to the boundless and omniscient gods will feel at ease and will continue to be kind to the flesh.
Looking at the story itself, it seems that art collecting families that are high in the upper class are also faced with inheritance division in the real French society. Brothers and sisters disagree with each other, high inheritance taxes, and how their children treat themselves from the dual perspectives of their parents and themselves. The legacy is processed. A series of trivial problems, written and behavioral, should be solved by sisters. In the end, the descendants of their children are just ordinary people, and they have nothing to do with the house itself and all the artworks in the house.
I understand my eldest brother’s wish to keep the memories of my mother, just like I want to leave my grandfather’s house, but the family’s opinions and financial affordability are ultimately just a wish. But after all, French society is developed and stable for a long time, and people's hearts are less impetuous. Facing the uncontrollable gains and losses, peacefully handling and accepting reality is actually the greatest antidote to life.
I was born in a rapidly developing Beijing and living in a rapidly developing society. In fact, most of my troubles are caused by poor mental health. Although I understand, it is difficult to really change. Who knows if you get better and better as you get older? But through such a film story, we will know that there is so much room for self and society to improve.
