War that is not invisible

The phenomenon of sexual assault in major government systems in the United States seems to have a long history. Tens of thousands of women and even men in the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, police and other public offices have received sexual assaults, and almost all of them have been sexually assaulted. The criminals did not get the punishment they deserved, and most of the victims chose to swallow their anger due to intimidation and fear of public career.

The film mainly focuses on several victims, both women and men. They are in the Coast Guard, Navy, and Air Force. Serving or serving in important components of the US military force such as the Marine Corps. Without exception, they were raped by their superiors or colleagues. This completely changed their lives. Many people have contracted venereal diseases or depression, and almost everyone has tried suicide. However, no one who committed the crime was tried.

The loopholes in the US military justice system have given the top executives of the power pyramid too much power. The statistics of victims have been increasing year by year, but no one is responsible for it. Several victims in the film filed a lawsuit against the military organization with the help of the film’s production team, but when the filming was completed, the result was predictable-the lawsuit was dismissed.

Under the blindness and protection of high-ranking officials, the women who were tortured by sex crimes were crying. They once joined the army with the ideal of serving their country, but they suffered inhuman treatment, which is the cruelest trampling on the dignity of the same human beings.

Every documentary director is subjective. Every documentary director wants to change certain realities of life with the help of film records. But in the face of reality, their efforts always seem insignificant. It is not enough to fight against a powerful national political system by relying on the power of a few filmmakers alone. We are like directors, facing the dirty and unbearable reality, we only ask questions, but we can't answer them.
