Reluctantly disobeyed

Watched this movie. I feel that Long Beard has been living in religious dogma, suppressing the true self in my heart. He frowned every day without a smile on his face. Although he said that he had a beautiful wife and lovely children at home, he was never happy because of it, or felt that he had something. His life is bound by family, neighborhood, and religion. He can't live without, can't live without, can't abandon his wife or children, and can't leave with ERIZ. When he finally grasped ERIZ by the shoulder, his eyes were full of affection for ERIZ and the helplessness of life that he could not get rid of. He had no choice but to keep a lake and a memory.

Eyes Wide Open quotes

  • Aaron Fleischman: [translated] A young man must work and pray. Rest brings about idleness. And idleness causes madness.

  • Rabbi Vaisben: [translated] He who dwells in abstinence is a sinner. A man who prevents himself from drinking wine is a sinner. He makes a sacrifice. Why? God doesn't want a man to suffer. He shouldn't cause himself sorrow. Why has God created the world? To make good for us, to ease our souls.

Aaron Fleischman: Rabbi, this doesn't satisfy me. He who drinks wine doesn't want to deal with the challenge. Worshipping God is an everyday duty. It means loving the difficulties. Being a slave of God means loving the hardship.
