I'm not trying to say how good Taiwanese movies are, but what else does mainland movies have besides hiring a big director and spending more money to win a Golden Rooster Award for self-comfort?
Well, I admit Lao Mouzi's talent, and I don't deny his movies. But should the Chinese films nowadays be reviewed? Even if good films are not produced, there are still endless bad films. As for today’s film industry, where commercial films are flooded, at least there are Taiwanese films. They are not commercial, they are very low-key, and they are too. No hype, no big names, those girls who chased together in those years, one by one, Cape No.7, and today's SurTec, these movies are still worth watching.
