The lonely childhood lacking motherly love and fatherly love, fantasizes about herself as a lonely beauty queen, besides being beautiful, she also has a fantasizing maid. Because I'm too lonely, I like to collect all the beautiful memories, and my beautiful world is made up of these memories. Besides, this environment is really depressing. Except for these young people, there are no other energetic scenes in the film. Either the old lady or the bald old man in that Texas bar. It is conceivable that most people should be as emotionally unhappy as Pim's mother and Keno's mother. This rendering shows the beauty of Pim's world and how rare his relationship with Keno is.
When I was watching this movie, I couldn't help thinking about Hardy's novel "Homecoming" all the time. Pim's mother is as eager to escape from this lonely and depressing place as Yutasha in "The Homecoming", but Pim is naturally integrated with this environment. Although Pim had fantasies about the outside world when he was a child, a piece of chocolate from his neighbor's brother made him feel that this place is the best place in the world because there are people he loves. Pim just waited quietly, waiting for his lover who was injured in the outside world to return to him.
After watching this film, when I recalled the movie, I remembered Diana Krall's Departure Bay, and suddenly felt that this story was really not easy.
