The expectation of "Unexpected Journey" in 2012 is that the wish to return to China is finally realized . And this year's "Smaug Desert", the most anticipated part is how PJ's processing and adaptation of the original story will make each character fuller, how to introduce new characters, and how to perfectly connect the past and the next.
I always believe that PJ will bring surprises, and it is no surprise this time.
Compared with AUJ, DOS's adaptation of the original work is proceeding drastically. Although the itinerary of Bilbo and the dwarves is still the same as the original, but each story happens, great choices and changes have been made. I can imagine that many people who grew up watching the original are dissatisfied with this adaptation, but while PJ’s story takes us back to Middle-earth, it seems to tell another possibility. Sometimes I even think, This possibility of appearing in the movie is not inferior to the original work. Of course, no matter which possibility it is, it is derived from the world of Tuo Lao. The story of Hobbit itself has a great influence on me, but it does not prevent me from accepting all the changes in the PJ version.
The opening at Bree is a perfect beginning from any point of view. For viewers who are not familiar with the story, clearly explain the reason for the quest of Lone Mountain and pave the way for the following story. For fans who have read the Quest of Erebor chapter in UT, this is simply a treat! I can see the familiar Bree, the familiar Prancing Horse Hotel, the familiar fat man gnawing carrots... Anyone who is familiar with LOTR must be able to feel the intention of PJ, right>< The position where one of the two assassins (?) was also sitting in the same year. The position where the king sat when he first played... Butterbur at this time should be the dad in LOTR... So it is not difficult to infer that PJ's fan girl is probably the mother of Butterbur _(:з」∠)_ But these are the styles of the crew like this family workshop...
The Beorn paragraph has been greatly simplified, removing the rather children's narrative, which takes up a large amount of space in the original book. The Mirkwood paragraph also changed the occasion of the encounter between the dwarf and the elves to a rather nervous encounter in an escape/fight against a giant spider. These two passages have become smooth and compact because of the removal of a lot of repeated behaviors of the characters in the original work. Although different people will want to see different parts of the original work are preserved, if you think about the intention of PJ's adaptation in this way, you will feel that his adaptation is very beneficial to the fluency of the film itself.
I don’t know when, any drama involving Mirkwood elves will cause huge controversy among some people... What I want to say about this is that, as Tuo Lao said, different people reading the same text will produce Different imagination, I don't think PJ's imagination of the jungle elves is wrong or wrong. The return of Legolas this time has injected a positive force into the jungle to some extent. Tauriel, the biggest controversy that existed before the release, was judged by some people as dog-blood after the release, but I don’t think there is anything unacceptable about such a plot. In my opinion, any details that help promote the development of the film are all. It will not exist for no reason. DOS basically doesn't have the joyful scenes in AUJ, but Tauriel and Kili inject a kind of warmth into the story.
The escape scene of the wooden barrel is particularly wonderful, and the whole action scene is very enjoyable. Recalling the resentment of the actors during the filming of this scene, you can think of the large amount of energy that everyone put into... The most amazing thing about PJ is that it takes the potential action scenes that are not described in a lot of pen and ink in the original work to the extreme. There is also a very happy part of this period, but at the same time it makes people feel that the elves and the dwarves are not always hostile, and sometimes there is a tacit understanding, even if everyone is unwilling to admit... There is a very brilliant shot here, which is Bombur’s barrel quilt. The segment that hits the shore is not just this segment, the effect of the entire barrel escape segment is a visual enjoyment.
Bard is probably my favorite character besides Bilbo in the original book (I don’t feel like no one likes Thorin in the original book...), and also the character I’m looking forward to the most before Hobbit’s release. …), the impression of him in my mind was similar to that of Aragorn. The movie adds a lot of details to Bard, especially about his family and the change of his identity in Long Lake. It is not difficult to see the leadership qualities of this character. In the original book, Bard was not described a lot in the chapter of Long Lake, but the film gave him a lot of shaping, making him full, and making people look forward to Bard in next year's "Going and Returning".
RA said that he is a Purist, I think he must have mistaken the scope of the group that the word refers to... People who always want to give their role a background story, purist is a ghost! Thorin is really the least original character in the whole Hobbit_(:з」∠)_ But this is also one of the most perfect parts of your film adaptation. Throughout the DOS until entering the secret door, Thorin’s trust in Bilbo was beyond words, willing to follow Bilbo’s plan, hope in him, and full of praise for him... and after entering the lonely mountain, dragon sickness gradually affected him. For a moment, he didn’t care about the life and death of this thief at all, but when confronted with Smaug later, he could still feel Thorin’s inner struggle with dragon sickness. One detail I really liked was that he asked Bilbo to follow Balin, and he Lead the dragon into the mine (?). This scene is also very beautiful, especially when he is standing on Smaug's mouth that is about to breathe the fire, the silhouette of the fire is set off. (And this scene actually reminds me of a scene in "King Kong", the shooting method is really PJ...) What surprised me is that the interior of Erebor is so huge and complicated...Weta's artists can't be better! The final true face of the dragon is completely different from the feeling on the Air New Zealand fuselage. It is huge and terrifying. It is beyond the expression of static pictures. This is undoubtedly the best dragon ever seen in the movie. (Probably also explained why RA has repeatedly stated that the most desired role in other characters is dragon...) I never thought that Smaug would almost escape from the Lonely Mountain in the end, because the development of the dwarf story after entering the Lonely Mountain is too different from the original. , And this difference brings the story to a commanding height. When I know how Thorin will end, let’s look at the changes in this character’s story and his efforts to take home the garden. His fate has always affected my heart, and there has never been a character that makes me so concerned...
Although I am 100 % Believes in PJ, but it does not mean that the movie is flawless. I feel that Gandalf and Sauron's performance in the duel is not very good, and I also feel that the orc scene is surprisingly many, and the orc caught by the elves specially told them to hear that he shot and injured a young black-haired archer. What does it mean ( I feel that ORC's observation ability is not so keen, or that they don't care about such things)...
Talking about it in a mess and found that I forgot to talk about Bilbo. He is the heart of the film, probably because of this, except for the influence of One Ring, the other times are exactly the same as the Bilbo in the original book I like.

Thorin showed great trust in Bilbo at the beginning. After being locked into the dungeon by the wizard, only Thorin alone thought that Bilbo would come to rescue them, and when everyone was skeptical of entering the barrel, Thorin asked everyone to do what Bilbo said. After Bilbo fell into the river, it could be seen that Thorin asked everyone to wait for Bilbo... Later, looking for the way to the secret gate on the Lonely Mountain, Bilbo found a huge stone statue and was praised. Not to mention Thorin’s respect for Bilbo when they were able to open the secret door because of Bilbo...
(Is there anything I want to add?)
The three times I have watched so far are IMAX 3D HFR. The picture is so beautiful. I don’t think there is any need to look at the non-HFR and 2D versions...
12/18-I watched RealD HFR again. Although I always thought that RealD has no blind spots when watching 3D, but this time I feel that I was watching IMAX 3D. Still the effect is better than RealD. One big reason, but it seems that the IMAX version is clearer.
12/23-Up to today, there have been six brushes... 12/26
-IMAX 3D HFR again, the 25m wide screen is too beautiful>< 12/
31-Watching expensive films to welcome the New Year...
01/09-The last brush is still available Give IMAX 3D HFR ><
