Change or not

Simple Simon believes that everything moves on its own track. You can't deviate from the track, and trouble will happen if you deviate, so he likes to maintain the status quo, not to change. Just like he suffers from Asperger's syndrome, he doesn't like being touched by others. But his brother told him that everything is changing, nothing is constant, and things are never as simple as replacement formulas. Simon wanted to find a girlfriend for his brother Sam. He worked hard. He still believed in the creed "she likes me, she will like you", but Sam kept telling him that it's not that simple. As a result, we don't know if this woman is with Sam or not. The film has an open ending, but we can know that Simon has changed and he can accept others to touch him. I understand this as "growth". Just like when we were young, we would naively think that everything will be beautiful, and only when we grow up will we understand that many things are not as simple as black and white.
